I'd never seen wedding dresses like it.

For some silly reason, I've always thought brides only had two options; wear the traditional white/ivory gown or go all out and wear a bright, dramatic colour like red or black.

I'm far too much of a classic, traditional bride to be so daring but when I went to the Designer Wedding Show in London recently, and saw David Fielden's beautiful gowns, I found another option for chic brides:

Pale, pastel hues (teamed with girlish ankle socks no less!)

I was mesmerized by David Fielden's dreamy bridal gowns of the palest grey, sky blue, blush pink and delicate apricot shades. These dresses below could make gorgeous maid's outfits, however, they are clearly not for the budget bride!

If the slightest hint of colour is still a bit too much, there are some stunning white gowns too!

This gentle use of colour is evident throughout his gorgeous website too. If you'd like to see more of his collections click here. You can watch the dreamy dresses in action during his theatrical catwalk show here.

So would you wear a pastel shade on your wedding day?

How about socks?!
