When Andrea of Andrea Ellison Photography emailed me to ask if I'd like to feature a wedding she had recently shot, she described it like this:

It's not traditional…the bride isn't wearing white….and there were no guests…only me!

I was beyond intrigued and I just had to find out the story behind this especially intimate wedding! When I visited Andrea's blog, I found such a love-filled story told beautifully by Andrea through her sweet words and her stunning photography that of course, there was no doubt that I had to share it with you.

This wedding is all about the couple and their love, pure and simple. I love the fact this wedding isn't traditional and couldn't care less that the bride didn't wear white! {The raven haired beauty looks incredible in her black gown, blue shoes and red heart Vivienne Westwood earrings!}

I'll let Andrea tell the beautiful and unique tale of Donna and Collin's intimate elopement:

The Runaway Bride

I have known Donna for a few years now and we get on like a house on fire…when she first told me about her plan to run away to Gretna Green I must admit I was worried about if she had made the right decision.Weddings are such joyous occasions…a perfect celebration with your family. So when I knew it was going to be just the two of them {and me!} I was nervous about what it would be like…

So much of the way I shoot my weddings is about trying to catch all those little moments…moments between the Bride and her parents…Dad's face as he see's his daughter in her dress…the Groom and his Groomsmen…nervous before the wedding…all the guest's…the speeches…what would I actually be able to capture?

I didn't need to worry though, it was such a romantic…simple…intimate day…so very beautiful.
They were so relaxed…desperately in love…and it was perfect.
It was an honor to be a part of their day and so very moving to witness two people declaring they want to spend the rest of their lives together…just to each other…and I was a weeping witness to their vow's. I have never cried so much during a ceremony {I cry at every Wedding! You get so emotionally attached to your Brides & Grooms} but seeing the simplicity and intimacy of Donna & Colin's day I could totally understand why they wanted it to be just the two of them…starting out as they mean to go on…two people…together.

They both look so happy don't they?

Well, just you wait till tomorrow when I'll be sharing the ‘first look' and the ceremony. {Get stocked up on tissues now, you might very well need them!} In the final set of photos, Donna and Collin looked like the happiest people on Earth! Maybe they were.

Thank you so much to the lovely, talented Andrea from Andrea Ellison Photography and of course to Donna and Collin for allowing me to share their intimate wedding.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth x

I don't know about you but I'm absolutely loving Donna's stylish and eclectic ensemble…I wonder if it is the Vivienne Westwood earrings? The blue heels {Manolo's per chance?} The glamourous fluffy stole? Or maybe it's simply the combination of all the above?!
