• Brides With Red Hair Rock! {Wedding Hairstyle Inspiration}

    Brides with red hair captivate me.

    There is something so very beautiful in the contrast between a white dress and red locks from auburn {or ‘strawberry blonde’ for Anne of Green Gables fans} to out of the bottle, vibrant red and everything in between. I love every shade.

    Red haired brides are rare beauties on wedding blogs so this post is dedicated to all you lovely red heads. I thought having a post full of inspirational hairstyles {and make up looks} on red haired celebrities, models and most wonderful of all, real brides, would be helpful.

    Here’s a bit of an ombre homage to red hair including a variety of shades, lengths and styles:

    {Model | Amy Adams | Emma Stone | Model | Christina Hendricks | Model | Kate Walsh | Rihanna | Model |Karen Elson | Florence Welch | Rihanna ~ Find all the sources here}

    As you can see these ladies are embracing their pale colouring ~ there’s not a fake tanned face in sight. While Rihanna shows us that red hair suits darker skin tones too. Don’t you just adore her volumised, shoulder-length bob? And Kate Walsh’s sleek straight bob is gorgeous too but I’m a sucker for glam curls and waves so Christina Hendricks and Amy Adams’ ‘dos do it for me!

    I suspect all these beautiful women, even those with natural looking shades, such as Emma Stone, have had a little help from semi permanent or permanent hair colour out of a bottle as there is a lot of shine going on! Which is not so easy to achieve naturally. For those adventurous brides out there who opt for a shocking shade of red, like Florence Welch, consider using weekly treatments in the run up to your wedding. Crispy hair is not a good look…but shiny, healthy hair is timeless!

    Make Up

    These ladies have emphasised their eyes with black, brown or grey eyeliner and I love the bold red lips on Florence Welch, Kate Walsh and Emma Stone. Rihanna demonstrates that, contrary to popular belief, pink and red can work well together!

    Another lovely quality lots of red heads have are freckles! Above, super model Cintia Dicker goes bare faced and uses natural make up to enhance her natural be-freckled face and red haired beauty: a bit of bronzer on the cheekbones, a nude lip, black eyeliner and eyelash extensions with white liner on the inside rim of her eyes. Stunning!

    Real Brides

    Now onto those inspirational, stylish, chic and unique real brides who have rocked their red hair!

    The Natural Look

    This Scottish bride looks perfect with her untamed curls amidst the backdrop of the highlands.

    Oh I just love all those pastel florals ~ the colours work so beautifully with the brides’ red hair.

    Hair Up

    A side bun or side pony, with gorgeous side swept fringe {bangs} and loose curls.

    This next bride reminds me so much of Adele ~ another example of a side swept fringe and loose curls to frame the face. Her hairstyle has lots of volume and the addition of the ivory and pink tipped roses headpiece creates such a romantic feel.

    How about a boho braid in your up ‘do? This bride incorporates a braid to add texture and interest to her side bun.

    Vintage / Retro Inspired Brides

    I love these images ~ they’re so stylish and dramatic. The bride is a vision in side swept ringlets and statement tulle headpiece!

    Ok so technically, the two shots below aren’t of a bride on her wedding day…but they’re super cute and inspiring! Makes me want to don a prim and proper fascinator. Love her make up too ~ those flushed cheeks and pink lips are a beautiful combo.

    A gorgeous bride, demonstrating how to do lady-like, retro vintage chic on your wedding day. I adore this look ~ the pearls, the curly locks and that red bag. Wow!

    Vibrant Red Hair And Unique, Alternative Style

    A peacock feathers fascinator, dark smokey eyes and red lips work so well with this bride’s short hair. Below, bright red lips, a red birdcage veil and vintage, half pinned back hairstyle looks beautiful.

    Chic and Unique ~ ‘Retro Meets Modern’ Bride

    This wedding is a dream! The couple are so stylish. I can’t get over how amazing the bride looks in her silver and gold, sparkly bodice and tulle-skirted 50s prom style wedding dress, star crown and accessorizing with a pink bouquet. It’s official pink and red are a great colour combination!

    Great piece my love!

    I love this post and I LOVE red hair. You’re making me regret dying mine back to brunette. I had it really red for just over a year but was a bit fed up of how trendy it became when Rhianna had hers done. Plus, it’s incredibly high maintenance as it fades so quickly. I’m sure I’ll go back to it one day though, I adore it. So many stunning pics here.

    Great pictures of lovely redheads. BTW, the “model” in the grid of redheads (last photo on the far right, 3rd row from the top with a photo of Rihanna beside and below her) is actually Alison Sudol, the lead singer of “A Fine Frenzy”. :)
