I love the thought of a dainty, girly tea party bridal shower or hen do complete with fancy hats and fascinators, cucumber sandwiches, scones, tea and cake. A tea party shower is a great daytime activity that's suited to all age groups.

Pointed pinkies when holding tea cups essential!

Invites ~ you can't get much cuter than these customizable tea cup bridal shower invitations from Wedding Paper Divas.

Decor ~ Think blush pink, baby blues and pale yellow. I adore the styling of the tea party bridal shower below with mismatched table cloths and chairs ~ the satin ribbon and cupcake place settings are just so inviting!

Ladylike Activities

You could arrange classic activities such as Mr & Mrs or the giggle inducing toilet paper wedding dress game.

For the crafty bride why not make pretty fascinators or hair flowers like these then wear them for photos?!

Decorate cookies using coloured icing or have your girls write their best wishes on a plain tea towel using fabric pens.

Or why not have your girls create their own blend of tea by creating a tea bar? I LOVE this bridal shower idea!

What does one wear to a tea party?

A floral tea dress of course! Paired with a floppy hat, suede mary jane peep toes and a vintage, baby blue bag…ensure guests get into the spirit too with a dress code of pretty hats, fascinators and dainty gloves.

My Vintage Tea Party Hen Do

I had a vintage tea party hen do that wasn't quite so demure but was LOTS of fun! We drank champagne out of vintage tea cups, rifled around in a dressing up box for bow ties and feather boas, painted our lips red, made DIY nipple tassels and took part in a hilarious burlesque lesson! Check out my post on my hen do here.
