What’s not to love about fortune cookies?
Fortune cookies make such a novel wedding favour. Cheap to make (or buy) and personalise with tiny print outs or handwritten ‘fortunes’. Your guests can’t help but smile as they open their favours.

Fortune cookies are made from simple ingredients you probably have in your cupboards already. There are plenty of tutorials and recipes online, including a website dedicated to how to make fortune cookies ~ they even include a free PDF with a whole bunch of suitably vague but positive fortunes/sayings to print out such as:

Here’s a simple step by step tutorial by Cindy Hopper.
To make her version of fortune cookies the only ingredients you need are eggs, flour, sugar and flavourings (vanilla extract and almond extract). That’s it!

Brilliant idea. I love the coloured ones. I’d probably buy them. I’ve had disastrous results with food colouring in the past!
Here is my fortune cookie recipe and some ideas for writing your own fortunes. This is a fun project to do with kids. For a wedding, I would buy them. What bride wants to be baking 300 fortune cookies a day or two before the wedding? Maybe if it were a very small wedding.
