Rustic, DIY Farmhouse Wedding With A 1950s Style Bride
Hello all,
How was your weekend?
Zee and I had our ‘farewell London’ night out / in on Saturday night with a bunch of our closest friends and oh what fun we had ~ I’m going to miss them all terribly! (We’re already busy planning their visits to the US of A to see us.)
Onto the loveliness…
A darling 50′s inspired dress, rustic cotton bouquet, unique orange stoned engagement ring and incredible hilltop views set the tone for this beautiful, DIYed from top to toe, farmhouse wedding in California. I can’t think of a lovelier way to start the week!
Here’s what the talented folk at Sunday Romance Photography had to say:
Shelly and David are a wonderful couple who treat others with tremendous kindness and respect. So when they asked for the help of friends to plan their wedding, they not only helped, but many went above and beyond. With everyone pitching in, the total cost of the wedding came to only $5,000.
Many thanks to Sunday Romance Photography for sharing these beautiful photos.
Come back tomorrow for all the DIY details ~ Shelly explains how they managed to plan their wedding for just $5000!

This is gorgeous! I love the simplicity of Shelley’s dress
Lovely images and beautiful wedding – great to see a theme like this that still looks ‘real’ … I’m a UK farmer’s daughter as well as a videography and photography company, so I’m lucky and get to see a LOT of beautiful weddings! This one I totally love.
Such a beautiful location and gorgeous couple! Can’t wait to see all the details & decor tomorrow x
The stark backdrop makes a fantastic contrast against the bride’s sweet vintage style. Just lovely!
So simple and gorgeous. I feel like I’ve been to the venue, too! Such a pretty ceremony backdrop :)
We are so excited to have this featured on this wonderful blog! I hope DIY brides will be inspired by Shelly + Dave’s wedding :)
