Vintage LA Styled Engagement Shoot: Cowboy Boots and Baby’s Breath
Happy Friday!
I do hope you’re having a good week. In typical British fashion it has been pouring with rain every day since I’ve been home but it hasn’t mattered much as it’s been so lovely spending time with my mum and being reunited with Rufus, our dog. Sadly he couldn’t fly out to SF with us the first time so our friends looked after him but we really really missed him.
He’s currently spread eagled at the end of my bed looking cute as I write this but the one thing I didn’t miss a bit was his super loud snoring!
This morning it’s all about a laid back LA engagement shoot styled to perfection by the beautiful fashionista bride to be. There’s baby’s breath, sunflowers, a blue bronco pick up truck, vintage doily style shawls and a pair of thrifted, chocolate brown cowboy boots.
I think you’ll agree Ashley and Memphis’ engagement shoot is full of love, style and vintage charm.
Here’s Ashley with all the stylish details:
Location ~ At the very end of the Hollywood walk of fame is a little community garden nestled in the heart of Hollywood, Wattles Farm. You can’t just walk into the garden you have to be a member but if you contact Mr. and Mrs. Leaman at 323-663-7441 and provide a donation for the garden they work with you to arrange a time to use the space. This place is a hidden gem in Hollywood and you are helping the community keep it gorgeous by making a donation :)
Props ~ My sister owns a company called Omen Eye where she reconstructs vintage denim. Since she visits thrift stores on a daily basis we started looking for the wedding and we started to find some awesome things! All the vintage luggage, hand crocheted blankets, cowboy boots and vintage frames were found in local thrift stores in the Phoenix and Los Angeles areas. Planning this wedding has really inspired us to resurrect some of these awesome items, we are now searching for vintage furniture and event props for all occasions.
Attire ~ Memphis is wearing a new menswear line called BESPOKEN his shoes and shirt are from them, they have awesome shoes!! They also provide Made-to-Measure shirts, which is really cool for a present for the groomsmen the day of. My dress is from a small store in Tennessee and my boots were thrifted.
Congratulations to Ashley and Memphis!
Many thanks to Sammy and Natalia of Closer To Love Photography for sharing their beautiful photos and brightening up our day.

Love the textural contrast of denim and lace.
Lovely :)
First of all, Congratulations! What is the name of the store you got your dress from? I would totally buy it from you! Its too sweet.
[...] Props – Considering the fact my buddy Briana works in Marketing, she may be able to pull some giant signs into her shoot. Considering the fact she is super crafty and creative, she may be able to bust out one of her paintings or another craft to personalize the final images. Here is an example of using a sign and including a puppy. Balloons were big as props for a while. What about cotton candy or giant lollipops as seen in this bright, playful shoot. I could see Bri and Will busting out some vintage cameras (you can borrow mine, girl!) and getting photos edited with a soft, instagram-ish touch like this. The following photo shoot incorporates props, a cool location, a sign and I love how natural the couple looks. They seem to be having fun and not too posed. Check it out here. [...]
All the blues, whites and tans make me happy. The couple looks so cheerful and relaxed. Nice photography!

Any chance you can tell me the name of the store in Tennessee you bought it from?
