Sweet and Colourful Eco Chic Farm Wedding
Happy Wednesday lovelies,
I have a sweet, handmade, eco chic wedding on a farm to share with you that proves simple can be beautiful.
And, just like last week’s washed out wedding in Northern Ireland, Kristin and Ed’s wedding ceremony was initially supposed to be held in the lush grounds of Snipes Family Farm in sunny North Carolina but was moved into the barn due to an unexpected thunderstorm!
But I’ll think you’ll agree, saying ‘I do’ under a blanket of twinkling fairy lights is pretty special and the grey skies made for some gorgeous portraits. Watch out for colourful florals, the perfect shade of orange bridesmaids dresses, a ‘best woman’ in grey and adventurous guests climbing the
water towergrain silo. From the bride, Kristin:
Our wedding theme should have been ‘It takes a village’. We delegated so many tasks to family and friends according to their strengths, and boy did they deliver. Family members performed live music, friends donated artwork and made the wedding cake, parents set up the bar and helped with decorations, a bridesmaid designed and constructed the tree guest book, and another friend MC’d the reception. While all of the tree drawings on the tables were original artwork by my friend Amber.
We had no idea how the final product would turn out, and everything was amazing. We also really strove to have as much of a green and locally resourced wedding as possible. The caterer used locally grown/raised ingredients and composted plates, cups, etc. Beer was from a local brewery. We used a local farmer for the flowers. In-lieu of party favors, we donated to a local children’s early education program. Decorations were a hodgepodge of reused items found off of Craigslist and various thrift stores.
Isn’t it wonderful that their special day was such a team effort?
Many thanks to Brett and Jessica Photography for sharing this delightful wedding and their beautiful photography with us today.

Lovely! Although the water tower climbing scares me a little…I sure hope there was a ladder there ;-) Love the bridesmaids dresses and the ‘best woman’ in grey!
This is WONDERFUL! – and such a perfect post for Kristen and Ed’s special wedding.
So sweet and intimate!
Cute!!! Hahaha, that’s not a water tower, it’s a grain silo!
Ooops! Shows you what a city girl I am ;) Ok I will amend that bit, thank you for letting me know. lol!
Reek! I’m a bit nervous of the climbing bits too! Gorgeous wedding though, and I love the butterfly print and the wishing trees.
Sorry about the autocorrect there…. I only said Eeeek, I promise!
