Into The Mist: An Enchanting Post Wedding Shoot
Take one misty London morning, add a pair of loved up newlyweds in all their wedding finery, throw in a couple of red balloons and you have the recipe for one outrageously gorgeous shoot.
I actually gasped when I saw these photos by Caro Hutchings Photography.
A proper audible gasp.
They are enchanting, atmospheric and utterly beautiful.
Caro shares a little more about the shoot:
I photographed John and Lucy’s beautiful wedding day a few weeks before but it really really rained and although we did get some gorgeous couple shots Lucy and John fancied doing something a bit different when it wasn’t raining. (You can see the full wedding here on Bridal Musings.) So we decided to get up for sunrise and go down to Peckham Rye.
I picked Lucy and John up at 5am and Lucy came out the house looking amazing in her wedding dress with her hair and make up done…what an achievement at that time in the morning! So as we got closer to Peckham Rye I realised that the sunset we had got up for was not going to happen and instead we were met by fog. It created the most magical scene and we couldn’t have asked for a more atmospheric setting.
Congratulations again John and Lucy! The British weather may not have played nicely on your wedding day but it certainly made up for it on that magical, misty morning a few days after. Thanks to Caro Hutchings Photography for sharing these stunning images with us.
Who knew fog could be so pretty?!

What a cool shoot! I usually think of balloons as ‘unnecessary props’ but in this case, they look great!
Love this shoot – so pretty and the fog adds to the magic! :-)
This shoot is sooooooooooo gorgeous!!! Absolute magic! :)
They really do! The portraits where you can just see their torsos & the red balloons amidst a grey backdrop of never-ending branches. Wow.
Thanks for your comment, Anneli :) Yep the fog certainly adds something magical and whimsical to the shoot.
Isn’t it just?! Thanks, Kat :)
So, so gorgeous! Totally in love with the fog… which is rare for me!
Wow, very cool! Kind of eerie and magical all at once!
Gorgeous! Some of these could be film stills, they are so evocative and magical. Especially love the balloon shots! x
Absolutely beautiful photography! The mist is such a uniquely beautiful backdrop!
I love this shoot the fog is so magical.
Enchanting is right! Such a beautiful venue and gorgeous photography. Love the additions of the red balloons, as well!
Red Ballon is a very good choice! NIce!
Oh my goodness! LOVE!!!
Makes you want to wish for fog and mist on your wedding day! Beautiful.
What a cool photo shoot! It truly is enchanting. In fact, it looks like something out of a fairytale movie. Absolutely stunning. Congratulations John and Lucy!

Wow! Truly enchanting. The fog really does scare me but ever since we’ve moved to SoCal the mornings of fog {locals say marine layer} make me so appreciative for the sun that always appears. It’s almost like the world is making you slow down. Love this shoot it is gorgeous! XO
Yes, it is pure fairytale isn’t it?
lol! :)
lol! I thought all the fog in California was in SF, but obviously not! I think mist sounds way better than fog or ‘marine layer’ :) Thanks for your comment x
I agree mist it shall be :-)
Beautiful photos!
