I lived in San Francisco for six months last year and it was awesome.

It's such a charming, quirky place, where I met lots of lovely people.

So I have a bit of a soft spot for city chic, San Francisco weddings.

I'm also a lover of all things nautical and a big fan of Melanie Duerkopp Photography so this navy blue and yellow wedding aboard a yacht  is right up my street.

Liz & Simon had their nautical wedding on the same night of the Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary so there were fireworks a-plenty. I'm a little bit obsessed with Liz's sleek up-do adorned with roses and loving the anchor details on everything from the cupcakes to their dog's bow tie!

Poor Liz broke her foot the week before their wedding so she had it in a brace support support on the day but she still managed to look effortlessly elegant!

From Liz, the bride:

We loved the work Melanie Duerkopp Photography did with other couples, loved our engagement photos and loved how easy Mel was to work with. We had a special look. So glad we did it!

The yacht we used was called The Merlot so our favors consisted of stemless wine glasses with our name and dates and a cake pop inside.

Liz's advice for other couples planning their weddings is simply to ‘have fun'! Amen.

Many thanks to Liz and Simon for sharing their wonderful wedding with us and to Melanie Duerkopp Photography for these bright, beautiful photos.

Are any of you thinking of a boat wedding? Or a nautical theme?

If you love navy paired with yellow, you'll love this classic, preppy wedding or how about a chic yacht wedding in Australia?
