• Rustic Pink Wedding: Lace, Burlap & Baby’s Breath

This rustic pink wedding is full of sweet, family filled moments and rustic, DIY touches.

There’s burlap and baby’s breath in abundance as well as a ceremony arch lovingly hand made by the bride’s dad, a rose topped, monogrammed cake and charming wooden ‘here come the bride’ signs. Plus, prepare for cuteness overload when you see Ginny and David’s bow tie clad ring bearers and adorable flowers girls!

Ginny wore her hair in a simple side braid adorned with tiny clusters of baby’s breath. (Don’t you just love it when brides wear fresh flowers in their hair?) As Ginny’s mum helped her to slip into her gorgeous lace gown, she got a little teary-eyed. The image of Ginny wiping her mum’s tears away is so precious.

Live View Studios captured each beautiful moment and darling detail of their day to perfection.

     From The Bride…

We had a rustic / eclectic theme and a pink and grey colour palette. We’d describe our wedding as an enthusiastic, family celebration!

     The Flowers

My bridesmaids and I made our bouquets on the morning of the wedding – we used vintage country roses surrounded by baby’s breath tied with a monogramed burlap strap.

     The Ceremony

Philippians 2:1-12 was read as that is our family Bible verse. We wanted our guests to feel at home and relaxed. During the ceremony there were many laughs shared. We wanted the feel of celebration, so after we were announced as man and wife, instead of calmly walking down the isle – WE DANCED down the isle (as did our bridesmaids and groomsmen).

This set the rest of the night up for a fun-filled evening!

     The Photography

Live View Studios are amazing! The way they use light and angles really captures each moment well. Brent and Anna are two of the sweetest people we know and once we met with them, we were hooked! They became two of our close friends! We feel blessed to know them daily.

     Décor & Details

Lots of burlap, baby’s breath, and palate boards!

All natural elements in the table centrepieces (mason jars, candles, burlap, baby’s breath, black/white/pink rafia, sticks painted white and clear marbles. It was all DIY which my mom, my bridesmaids and I put together with the help of Liz, our wedding planner.

Each guest received a pink lace bag of covered almonds. We used old window frames to display some of our favorite pictures.

     The Refreshments

Buffet style: Choice of steak / chicken / vegetarian kabobs, mashed potato bar, salad, and roll with sweet tea, lemonade, or water to wash it down.

     The Music

Processional (played on the piano by Jeannie Albers) ‘Colour My World’ by Chicago – this was also the song my parents had their first dance to.

Recessional – ‘I Do’ by Colbie Calait

First Dance – ‘Brighter Than The Sun’ by Colbie Calait (Yes, we are both huge Colbie Calait fans!)

     Favourite Moments

We wanted people to feel free to express themselves, let loose, and have a good time – and they did just that! EVERYONE was dancing! It really felt like a celebration. Very relaxed, fun, enthusiastic, and family centered. We had a blending of two cultures and it was beautiful!

     Advice For Other Couples

Look up Live View Studios! And you really can put on a wedding for cheap.

DIY projects for your wedding may at first seem like “just something else to do” but it is time you can spend with family, making memories to last a lifetime. I will always cherish the moments spent with my mom wrapping rafia around mason jars, playing with how to set up the center pieces, wrapping burlap strings around silverware, and painting sticks for the display. It can also save you so much money so you can begin your marriage financially in a good place!

Congratulations Ginny and David! Thanks for sharing your special day with us!
