Over the next couple of months London based make up artist Tabby Casto will be sharing a series of bridal make up tutorials to help you achieve Hollywood/catwalk worthy looks for your big day.

Did you catch last week's? It was a Megan Fox inspired make up tutorial – defined eyes, bold brows and nude lips. Yes please.

Today Tabby is showing us how to achieve a subtle golden glow which is perfect for brides who prefer a more natural look. Soft fluttery lashes, a hint of blush and a radiant glow, as if from within.

I know everyone says that pregnant women glow. Well I think brides do too – they radiate happiness!

(Just look at yesterday's gorgeous real wedding. Smiliest bride EVER. Awesome hair too!)

Natural Wedding Make Up Tutorial

Toolkit

1. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation // 2. Mac Pink Rebel Skin Sheen // 3. Mac Ladyblush Cream Blusher // 4. HD Brow Palette Blonde // 5. Mac Paint in Bare Canvas // 6. Mac Honesty Eyeshadow // 7. Eylure Individual Lashes // 8. Laura Mercier Shy Girl Lip Tint

How to Get the Look

1. After cleansing, moisturising and prepping the skin apply Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (1) with a buffing brush like the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Applying with a duo fibre type of brush will buff the product onto the skin in a much more diffused and natural way. This look is all about clean fresh looking skin – no makeup makeup – skin that looks like skin. After this apply a mineral based concealer under the eyes and cover any areas of redness. Use your finger to tap away any excess makeup and ensure the skin is

2. Before applying a light weight setting powder to the t-zone only, use your finger to dab a touch of Mac Pink Rebel Skin Finish (2) over high planes of the face such as the bridge of the nose, top of the cheekbones and inner eye area. This creates a glowy fresh sheen over the skin. Avoid glittery face highlighters on the big day – these can reflect a little too heavily in photos and come up greasy in pictures!

3. Using the same Expert Face Brush that you used to apply your foundation, lightly Buff on Mac Cream Blusher in Ladyblush (3) over the cheekbones. Less is definitely more with this product. To ensure you don't end up looking overly blushed use the back of your hand to warm up the blusher on the brush – this will take off the excess product and you wont have to worry about it looking to bright.

4. Define your eyebrows softly with a powder brow product like the HD Brow Palette in ‘Bombshell' (4) This kit contains a little angled brush which you can shape the brows with easily. Because this look is all about a natural finish avoid creating strong and defined shapes. Blend out the colour as much as possible and follow with a sweep of clear brow setting gel.

5. Keep the eyes really soft for this look. Start by prepping the lid with Mac Paint in Bare Canvas (5) and follow with a sweep of Mac Honesty eyeshadow (6) blended into the crease of the eye. Notice there are no harsh edges – a fluffy blending brush is essential!

6. Lashes are kept soft and wispy in this look. A very defining mascara was used – something with a smaller and more thin wand such as Max Factor's Masterpiece Mascara would recreate the effect perfectly. But notice the ends. Individual false lashes were definitely used to create a soft but pretty lift in the outer corners. Try Eylure's Individual natural range (7) – about 4 on each corner should do the job.

7. Lips are kept really soft – the looks is almost lip tone like. Try Laura Mercier's Lip Tint in Shy Girl (8) for a barely there natural finish.

As always, I’d recommend brides have a trial with a professional make up artist before going it alone as they can help you discover what products will work best for your specific skin type and face shape. If you decide to go the DIY wedding make up route just make sure you (or one of your bridesmaids/friends) have lots of practice runs before the big day!

Thanks so much to Tabby for sharing this tutorial with us today. I love that this look is all about enhancing your natural beauty in a soft, subtle way.

We'd love to hear from you in the comments!

Do you prefer barely there make up?

Or is eyeliner a desert island essential? (I'm the latter FYI.)
