This laid back, beachy chic wedding is sure to brighten up your day.

Leslie and Ifran said their ‘I dos' on golden sand, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, bathed in Californian sunshine while Anna Delores Photography captured every sweet moment and DIY detail.

Leslie honored Irfan's heritage by getting Mehndi on her hands and feet and changing from her wedding dress into a sari during the reception. And Irfan is quite possibly the smiliest groom I've ever featured!

Their beautiful day featured fragrant eucalyptus bouquets and rustic, mossy birch stumps (made by the bride) a messy buttercream cake, burlap ‘yay!' flags and classic coke bottles.

But the thing I love most about their day is that during those anticipatory, intense moments before their first look, Leslie playfully threw a plastic Triceratops at Irfan. Ha! (Bet that was unexpected!)

The Flowers

Bridal Bouquet – Seeded eucalyptus and white wax flowers
Maid of Honor Bouquet – Seeded eucalyptus, white wax flowers, chamomile

We also wore dahlias in our hair.

The Ceremony Readings

“The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran and an excerpt from “Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten” by Robert Fulghum.

The Theme

We let the environment be the main theme and charm with a few touches of green, brown, and white to tie it all together. Low centrepieces and low maintenance since we knew our guests would be out of their seats most of the night.

If we had to describe our wedding in three words, we'd say Beachy, Low-Maintenance, FUN or “BEST. WEDDING. EVER.” As many of our guests have told us! How awesome!

The Centrepieces

Glass Cylinders (set of 36 for $99 from Amazon) with preserved sheet moss, sand and Eucalyptus Cinerea.

Birch stumps ($88 for 75 on Tradesy) with preserved sheet moss and fever few.

The Photography & Videography

We chose Anna Delores Photography because we liked the color palette, capturing a soft and happy style with a touch of vintage and nostalgia. It’s sweet. I love it.

We chose Etchfilms Videography because they make creative short films with great taste, editing, and style. They capture beautiful sentimentality without the cheese and also the honest good fun.

Favourite moments

The combination of our guests and the public crowd’s applause during and at the end of our ceremony; Getting married and realizing that our vows were so similar it was like we wrote them together; Getting Irfan’s dad to dance; The whole family mingling together dancing like crazy!

The Dessert

Cutting Cake: 6” knockdown frosted chocolate cake with mocha mousse filling

Cupcakes: Tirimisu cupcakes, Simply Chocolate cupcakes, Simply Strawberry Cupcakes

The Attire

Just Best Man and Maid of Honor composed the bridal party. Everyone else was very encouraged to wear semi-formal attire in colors and white for a comfortable California late summer beach wedding. I asked that no one wear all solid black- too formal and too likely to look like a club.

It ended up being an extremely HOT day with no wind, even on the beach!

Advice For Other Couples

After the wedding ceremony, it’s just a party. So party up, have fun and let go. Your guests are there to have fun and celebrate with you, so go and play! Also, don’t let your dad throw water in the air if it’s going to damage the DJ’s equipment.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Khan! Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us and thanks also to Anna Delores Photography for sharing these dreamy photos.
