Moah and Alex's wedding brings together their love of the casual California lifestyle, their passion for food, and their penchant for a little geekery.
The tech whizz twosome who are part of the team behind Boomerang, (an awesome Gmail app which you should totally try!) created a beautiful outdoor wedding day filled with pretty decor, nerdy tunes and great food.

Our Day
“Khal Drogo once said everything important in a person’s life should happen under the open sky — and that’s what we wanted for our wedding!
After seven years together in Boston, we moved to California and wanted a wedding that reflected our new California lifestyle. Open sky, string lights, casual elegance, and lots and lots of wine.”

Our Favourite Moment
“Our favorite part of the wedding was our ceremony. To us, the ceremony was the most important part of a wedding. We wrote our own vows that are a mix of fun, lightheartedness, and sincerity. Our guests told us that we made them laugh and cry at the same time.”
The Music
“Music was an area where we really got to express our goofy, nerdy selves without being too obvious to our guests.
I walked down the aisle to The Hobbit Theme portion of the Lord of The Rings by The Piano Guys. Our recessional song was Baba Yetu (the version from Civilization IV).
Our grand entrance with the wedding party to the reception was the theme song from Game of Thrones.”
The Decor
“We didn’t have a specific theme for our wedding. Instead, we incorporated rustic and romantic elements with chalkboards, wine corks and white lanterns.
All the decorations that the venue didn’t have were DIY’d with the help of a graphic designer friend. I particularly love the table names that are the cities we’ve visited (with our recommendations for the restaurants and our favorite memories).
One detail that I’ll always remember is the flower pin on my dress. My mother, who’s not typically crafty, made it because I mentioned to her that I’d love a personal detail for my dress.”
The Food
“When it came to the reception, the main thing we cared about was having delicious food and wine. The menu blended both of our cultures together.
We had Mohingar (the Burmese national dish) alongside American classics such as beef tri-tip and stuffed sole. We had no wedding cake, because I am not a big fan of cakes, and donuts are just better.
And our S’more station both looked great and gave our guests something to do – perfect for a wedding where the guests were not big dancers.”
Our Advice for Other Couples
“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is to agree on a few aspects of the wedding you both really care about and be flexible on the rest.
That will make sure your spending and priorities are on things that matter to you the most. It will save a lot of headaches.
If you are going without a coordinator, checklists will make your wedding day run smoothly. Plan backups for anything you can’t go without.
I also set up a lot of reminder emails to ourselves, the various vendors, and the wedding party — of course, pre-scheduled with Boomerang.”

I'm a tad obsessed with string lights at the minute, so this is just perfect, and who isn't a sucker for a s'more table? The restaurant recommendations are also a sweet touch on the destination table name trend.
