Today's real wedding is a little bit different to many of the nuptials we feature here at Bridal Musings.

There's a bride. There's a groom. There are flowers, a wedding cake and even a stunning setting.

But that's it.

Stunning Mountainside Elopement | Tonie Christine Photography | Bridal Musings Wedding Blog16Chris and Robin describe their wedding as intimate, serene, and enchanting. And that's exactly what is was.

Eloping on a breathtaking mountainside in Leavenworth, Washington, Chris and Robin's marriage was officiated in the very spot they were engaged.

Striped back, simple, and stunning, Robin (in a beautiful alternative wedding dress) and Chris (wearing his father-in-law's tie) enjoyed a romantic ceremony, tranquil moments, and a picnic for two.

And documenting this enthralling elopement was the wonderful Tonie Christine, a Seattle photographer who prides herself on capturing “The bride who does not just walk the aisle but she blazes her own trail.”

Well, when it comes to bucking trends and having a wedding that's uniquely you; This gorgeous pair sure are a couple of trail blazers…

The Inspiration

Six months before the ceremony, we were snowshoeing around this very mountain. We stopped and sat on a large rock, drank hot chocolate, talked, and prayed together.

As we were leaving, Chris got on one knee and proposed! The ceremony took place at that very spot and is right above our new home. It will always be a special place to us!

We really wanted to capture the beauty of the mountains and the stillness that they bring. We wanted to keep things simple and focus on the meaning of the day itself and each other.

Everything was understated while our color inspiration came from the mountains themselves with navy, browns and greys.

The Flowers

We wanted the flowers to blend in with the feel of the mountains while still looking bridal.

Columbia City Bouquet included small branches and lush greens to give the bouquet a more rustic feel while incorporating white garden roses and more to keep it soft and bridal and did an amazing job at capturing the look we were going for!

The Refreshments

We wanted something that felt like “us” so we decided to snack on some of our favorite goodies from local farmers and markets.

The wedding cake was made by Cake Chic Studio and we added the fresh pears for a bit of flair!

The Décor & Details

We borrowed some family antique cutting boards to use as our table.

We decided not to add any decorations to the ceremony so that the mountains could be the main focus.

The Attire

I loved that the white lace on my gown made me feel like a bride, while the navy blended in with the mountains and coordinated with Chris.

I wore a Catherine Deane gown and my mother’s leather belt. And Chris wore his own attire with his father-in-law’s white silk tie.

We added touches of brown leather to tie in with the trees around us.

In addition to her incredible talent, Tonie’s passion and excitement is so contagious! She makes you feel completely at-ease and is able to capture special moments in such a beautiful way.

Favourite Moments

Our favorite memory was saying “I Do” and spending some quiet moments together, reflecting on the past and dreaming of the future while looking out over the beautiful valley!

We are so glad we kept things simple for our elopement. Having a beautiful cake, some flowers, and an incredible photographer to capture our day was perfect!

Isn't it just breath-taking.

I love the idea of such a serene day. Sometimes city elopements can seem a little impersonal, but this one, on a stunning mountainside is just so intimate and romantic. And what beautiful photography by Tonie Christine?

Thanks so much to Robin and Chris for sharing their perfect mountainside elopement with us.
