At first we were dismayed, then we were intrigued, and now, we're in love.
Yes, the crop top wedding dress trend is here to stay, and while we admit it was a bit of a grower, we couldn't be more excited about the prospect of bare midriff brides.
Crop tops might be incredibly cool. But they can also be pretty classy. If you wear them right.

With the rise in popularity of bridal separates, billowy skirts, sexy corsets, and soft cardis are all being mixed and matched for a bespoke wedding day look. As are crop tops.
No longer simply to be paired with some 90s denims and a plaid shirt, teaming something as casual as a crop top with a dramatic ballgown skirt is a bridal style statement with major wow factor.
A great style for showing off a slim waist, this is a versatile look for adding curves to athletic silhouettes, accentuating hourglass shapes, and elongating petite figures.
Follow these rules for an elegant twist on the trend:
- Keep your bare midsection to a minimum with just discreet flash of skin.
- Opt for a looser crop top to avoid looking like you're wearing a sports bra.
- Take advantage of more delicate fabrics and features like lace and scalloping.
- Wear a high waisted skirt, you want to bare your narrowest section, not your hips or bellybutton.
- If you're nervous about baring skin, opt for a sheer midriff panel instead.
- Keep it classy with a high neckline.
