Conceived by designers Sathya Balakumar and Heather Green, who were inspired by their high-fashion backgrounds and cultural influences, to fuse heritage with modernity. They've used pure silks, printed lambskin, hand-beaded Indian appliqués to create red-carpet worthy wedding dresses.
And it's not just the designs that are modern, Lakum's website is entirely shopable, with all full pricing available – both of which, almost unheard of in couture bridal fashion – and best of all, brides can pay a nominal fee to try on several white muslin versions of the dresses at home, to ensure the right style and fit.
