As bringers of unusual/thoughtful/gorgeous wedding inspiration, we love when we get to show you guys a wedding that's a little bit different.

Not because of the choice of wedding cake or the style of centrepiece (though both of them are rather unique for this wedding!) but because the couple toss out the rule book entirely.

Adrienne and Andrew's wedding (photographed by the wonderful Megan Saul Photography) was one such soiree, there weren't cocktails, dancing or fancy cars, but there was DIY creme soda, a game of musical shorts, and a tandem ride sparkler sendoff.

Intrigued? So were we!

The couple planned their Colorado mountain wedding in just four months, while cycling their way across the U.S (no biggie!) browsing online for photographers and venues at library pitstops along the way.

The result? A thoughtful and personal day laced with fun, laughter, DIY details and a seriously breathtaking setting.

Scroll down for more on the day from Adrienne and to see their gorgeous pictures, but first up, we'll hand you over to the lovely Megan Saul to introduce this unique wedding.

From The Photographer

Adrienne and Andrew met on a missionary trip the rest between the two of them was history.

Their friends and family from all over the world gathered at a ranch in the mountains of Durango, Colorado. Their wedding was full of everything they loved from gluten free cake to bikes.

Instead of dancing they had their guests play a variety of games and interact with one another.

They had an Italian soda bar. Their decor was all handmade by them including their boxes which represented all the things that love means.

The Attire & Flowers

We chose a rustic and country style with natural beauty. Our colour palette was mint green, purple, cream, and gold.

The bridal party wore mint green color scheme of their choosing, groomsmen wore linen khaki pants from H&M and classic white dress shirts from H&M with mint green bow tie.

For our flowers, the bridesmaids had six white roses with calcinia. For the bridal bouquet we had white dahilas, white garden roses, purple and lavender stock, green spider mums, queen anns lace, green and white hydrangea, and green hypericum berries.

The Photography

We were referred to her by a mutual photographer friend of the groom along with others.

We chose Megan Saul because of her portfolio on the web with impressive pictures with the natural light and beauty of nature.

The Decor & Details

My mom, dad and myself made the centerpieces. There were boxes with words that I had wood-burned and then the flowers would be placed in them.

The words were ones found in 1 Corinthians 13 of what “love is”. We also made the programs from plywood and metal twine with thick cotton paper where the programs were printed onto it.

We made the menus for each table with the plywood and then used the printable fabric found at Walmart/target to print the menu then glue onto burlap and then onto the plywood, this gave it a rustic look with the frilled edges from the fabric.

We got this idea from Rustic Wedding book found at Hobby Lobby.

For our cake topper, we sent one of our engagement photos to a person found on Etsy where she wood burned it onto the centerpiece.

Unique Details

Instead of dancing we played games from the game show Minute to Win it. This was fun because it got the guests involved. Also at the end we did a fun polish game where instead of musical chairs we did musical shorts.

We had 10 pairs of couples with each one pair of boxer shorts. We would dance around and then when the music stopped we had to take the shorts off the one partner and put it on the other. Whoever was left won.

Also the bride and groom getaway vehicle was a tandom bike as we both a huge cyclists.
