We’re not sure if it’s just because the UAE has been more on our radar since Elizabeth moved there, but this glamorous Gulf nation never ceases to impress us with its beautiful, opulent and unforgettable weddings.
Alana and Kempton are an American couple, who went to same university in the States. But it took travelling across the world for them to meet and fall in love.
They flew their friends and family to their new home in UAE to celebrate their spectacular wedding, and the fabulous Lindsay Collette, was there to document it all.
But our favourite snap just has to be Kempton’s face when he sees her walking down the aisle towards him. Oh and watch out for Kempton’s cool shisha slippers too!
A breathtaking sunset reception overlooking the Persian Gulf, simple and modern decor, and a lavish feast, completed a day that was polished, stylish and decadent, yet still entirely romantic, laid back and personal.
We’ll let photographer Lindsay Collette tell you the rest, but prepare to see a whole new side to the UAE with this beautiful Abu Dhabi wedding.
Wedding Day Snapshot
From the Photographer
In April 2014, I traveled to the Middle East to capture a truly breath-taking wedding for high-energy expatriates, Kempton and Alana. Set among the blazing sands of Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is the Saadiyat Beach Club (Formerly Monte Carlo Beach Club).
The beach club is gorgeous on its own – but bring together a truly spectacular bride and groom, and you have the setting for a perfect day.
The ceremony was hosted on the lawn of the beach club, with the Persian Gulf as the background for the vows. Walking herself down the aisle, Alana, clad in a custom made dress by Middle Eastern designer and personal friend Rami Al Ali, stunned.
She chose to accentuate her sophisticated dress with gorgeous statement earrings, and a bright red punch with her Julie Jolie shoes.
Guests were treated to a lavish, seated four course meal, which included beetroot and turnip salad, pan-seared scallop, shellside, with pumpkin tortellini, beef tenderloin, foie gras, with sunchoke puree, and, to finish, Cipriani meringue cake–the bride’s favourite.
During dinner, a video slideshow of all the couple’s friends from around the world played, wishing their best.
After dinner, was dancing under the starry skies. Guests danced well into the evening, taking breaks only for shisha and Bomboloni donuts made from an authentic Tunisian chef.
The night, really the entire experience, was one which will never be forgotten.
Isn’t it fabulous? I love how it’s all so luxurious, yet nothing is too heavy or showy, how elegant!
Thanks so much to Lindsay Collette, and of course our gorgeous Alana and Kempton for sharing their beautiful Abu Dhabi wedding with us.
