Luxurious & Romantic Greenery Wedding Inspiration

Romantic Wedding Inspiration at Le Manoir

Today we’ve got a beautiful wedding inspiration that’s laced with French romance and English elegance (something of a theme on the blog this week!).

Captured by the marvellous Sanshine Photography, this beautiful shoot was planned and designed by Emma Riddell of Goose & Berry Weddings, who you may remember from some foodie features we’ve shared on the blog before.

Inspired by this year’s Pantone Colour of the Year, Greenery, this shoot has the most idyllic Oxfordshire setting, spectacular blooms, and luxurious details, from some of our favourite UK vendors and international suppliers.

One for the true romantics, who appreciate the finer things in life, this shoot is positively brimming with beautiful ideas…

Being lucky enough to grow up in a rural environment has given me a love and admiration of all things countryside and green.

Green is by far my favourite colour; it’s so versatile and works with so many other colours and tones, whilst being fresh, rich and full of warmth it is also calming and adds another dimension to most looks.

When I heard that this year’s Pantone colour is Greenery, I could not have been more delighted. I adore blushes and pastels but green will always hold a special place in my heart.

Much of my wedding inspiration is from the countryside; the colours, the food and in particular the florals.

A particular fondness of mine is country manor houses, the elegance combined with the rusticity and the history behind the walls and gardens.

Le Manoir au Quat’Saisons is one such place that has long been a favourite of mine. Coming from a Relais & Chateau 5*hotel work background, Le Manoir is up there with the best of them.

The most beautiful country manor house surrounded by stunning gardens creates a picture perfect setting to any wedding. Even better… the world famous chef Raymond Blanc is the patron there and the cuisine is stunning.

Being a foodie this really is a dream venue for me and I have been lucky enough to eat there and get to meet Monsieur Blanc himself.

Reflecting all of its fine qualities; seasonality, rurality and food; grown locally and in the hotel’s very own kitchen gardens, I created a very rustic and botanical vision. I wanted to utilise its wonderful gardens and use herbs and beautiful florals throughout the styling.

Amie Bone created the bountiful and stunning flowerscape on the table. Mixed with pots, bottles, candles and wooden logs, Amie and her team crafted together a stunning and luxurious but rustic and natural botanical look with a nod to a kitchen garden with green and foliage in abundance.

I wanted the overall feel to be of luxury but with hints of rustic simplicity and rurality of times gone by. Keeping the colours clean, white, green and earthy enabled this look to be achieved.

Bringing natural elements such as the wooden tables and chairs from Stress Free Hire and earthenware tableware enhanced this look and touches of copper in the cups and cutlery added a touch of the luxe to the look, which works so well in the setting of the Belle Époque and its beautiful light space and gardens.

Recycled and textured paper from Silk & Willow combines with their natural linen napkins and table runner and along with their silk ribbons helped to enhance a rustic and natural vibe.

The paper and favour bags completed with elegant and romantic calligraphy by Judy Broad completed the tablescape perfectly and I loved the copper font, reflecting the copper cutlery and cups.

The bridal fashion needed to be relatively simplistic, with nothing too much or full on. The Jesus Peiro gown from Ellie Sanderson had a sweet lace body and a full tulle skirt, which gave a romantic nod to the style.

Paired with a beautiful full length veil and stunning Harriet Wilde ‘Marlow’ lace shoes it created a soft, feminine and romantic bridal look. Soft and natural make-up and hair by Katie Reay Scott completed the look and earthy tones were used on the beautiful Alexa.

Feathers added the finishing rural touch, which works so well in such a fabulous countryside setting. I wanted to add hints of modern fashion but with a twist and what better than a tweed cape from Cocoon Luxe.

The tweed added to the countryside wedding feel and I loved the cape style, which is so easy to cover up on your wedding day, but with a super stylish twist.

The wedding cakes again needed to be fairly simplistic but with a luxurious feel. Buttercream and a couple of real flowers created just the look.

The macaron tower was in homage to Raymond Blanc and his fabulous food and looked great alongside the two tier cake. Emma from Gifted Heart Cakes did a fab job of getting the greens and earthy tones on the macarons just right!

The rustic greenery and botanical look is one of my favourite to achieve and work with. With natural elements and pared-back luxury and rustic and rural touches, with a nod to the past, combined with masses of cottage garden florals and herbs, you can create a striking look that appeals to the romantic and luxurious couple.
