Strolling amongst the fancy boutiques on Rodeo Drive in LA, Lana & Arthur look like they’ve just stepped out of a Tiffany ad.

I adore Lana’s chic, feminine style – blush pink cocktail dress, slightly tousled, braided hair, delicate jewellery, nude heels & lacy nail art that sends my heart all a’ flutter.

While Arthur is dressed so sharply in his three piece, steel-blue suit & striped tie it hurts.

Then there’s the laid back, beachy shots on the pier at Chino Hills, full of fun & romance. (And yet another killer dress.)

Can we all just stop & appreciate how utterly stylish this couple is? And how beautiful these photos are!

Congratulations Lana and Arthur! Wishing you all the best for your wedding plans – I’ve no doubt it’ll be one seriously stylish soiree!

I’m constantly on the look out for creative pinners and beautiful boards to follow which is why I’m SO thrilled to be a part of the Pin It Forward UK campaign, spreading the Pinterest love across the UK alongside a whole host of fabulous bloggers from a range of niches.

So What Is Pinterest?

Pinterest is an online tool for collecting and organizing the things you love.

It appeals to the 8 year old me, who spent a summer meticulously organising her sticker collection. One page for My Little Pony stickers, another one for Thunder Cats and a double page spread for sparkly stickers. I could go on.

It’s a virtual pin board / scrap book for creators, curators and collectors to inspire and be inspired.

I first discovered Pinterest back in 2011 and, as a lover of beautiful imagery, the outcome was inevitable.

It was love at first click.

2 years, 105 boards, 9,000 pins & 3.4 million followers later, I’m still just as enamoured with Pinterest.

Pinterest In The UK

As I’ve been based in both the UK (London) & US (San Francisco and currently sunny Miami!) this past year, it’s been really interesting to see the impact Pinterest has had on friends, readers and the wedding industry on both sides of the pond.

A large majority of my Pinterest followers are from the USA but I’m pleased to report that more and more UK friends, brides, grooms, readers and wedding industry pals are beginning to sign up and fall head over heels for Pinterest too.

And hopefully, as a result of this Pin It Forward UK campaign, lots more people will discover the joys of Pinterest!

How I Use Pinterest

I use Pinterest as a blogging tool as well as for my own personal projects and ideas.

Here’s just a few of the ways I use Pinterest:

- Save and share gorgeous wedding inspiration and helpful ideas for couples planning their big days.

- Generate ideas for future blog posts on Bridal Musings.

- Share a few images from my blog posts with the Pinterest community – I love to chat with brides on Pinterest – this pin about wedding proposals got a great discussion going!

- As a ‘To Do List’ for places I want to travel to, things I want to buy, books I want to read etc.

- To learn – I have a board dedicated to blogging tips and tricks as well as board for photography tutorials for beginners like moi.

- For Hairstyles and Make Up inspiration – I can’t get enough of hair and beauty pins and tutorials!

Pinterest For Your Wedding

Sadly Pinterest wasn’t around when I was planning my wedding. *wipes tears*

But you lucky brides and grooms currently planning your nuptials have access to a fantastic wedding planning tool.

Oh this was so hard to choose.

After much deliberation I’ve gone with Wedding Inspiration.

It’s a pretty place filled to the brim with eclectic wedding inspiration and ideas – from beautiful blooms to special moments, darling decor to dreamy wedding dresses and everything in between!

If I’m ever having a stressful day at ‘the office’, I take a quick look at all the love, beauty and creativity on this board and fall in love with weddings all over again.

Megan and Todd’s wedding at The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena was the perfect mix of rustic chic decor with classic, ballroom elegance.

I’ve fallen head over heels for the navy and neutral colour palette, pretty moss details, white roses, blush pink dahlias and chic stripes. And I’m pretty much obsessed with Megan’s timeless bridal style…

She teamed a layered lace Rivini wedding dress with with the perfect amount of sparkle – glamorous earrings, waist cinching sash and delicate hair pin peeking out from underneath her cathedral length, lace trimmed veil.

Orange Turtle Photography captured all the romance and beauty of Megan and Todd’s special day perfectly.

 From The Bride…

We want to create a feeling of timeless elegance. We liked the idea of having neutral colors and lots of natural elements to allow for our venue to speak for itself.

I wore a strapless lace gown with a cathedral length lace trimmed veil. My bridesmaids wore grey chiffon floor length dresses with stain sashes that had fabric flowers attached to them.

 The Flowers

I really wanted the flowers to be very natural and timeless. We used a lot of wooden boxes and baskets (the flower girl basket was covered in moss) and the chuppah was made of wood covered in moss and dahlias. The flowers were all in the white family and consisted of mostly garden roses, dahlias and queen anne’s lace.

 The Ceremony

We had an interfaith service that included some Christian traditions as well as Jewish ones.

 Décor & Details

Our décor was minimal in order to highlight the beautiful historic hotel we were surrounded by. We did want to add a few quirks to elevate the day and bring a little something special to the day.

Our escort card table was a replica of the Hollywood sign and spelled out MR & MRS in the background. We also included different pictures of our bulldog on our table numbers to add a little whimsy to the day.

 The Refreshments

We love comfort food and found it important to include late night snacks that were made available during the late night dancing. The food included lobster corn dogs, sliders, tomato shooters with grilled cheese sticks, homemade marshmallows and donut holes (in honor of our bulldog Dunkin named after our favorite donut shop).

 The Wedding Music

Our recessional was a guitar and violin rendition of “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts in honor of my obsession with the show Friends. Our first dance was to an acoustic version of “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol.

 Orange Turtle Photography

We spent a long time looking for the perfect photographers. We met a bunch of people that we didn’t feel were right for us and were then recommended to meet Orange Turtle Photography by our wedding planner and it was a perfect match.

We wanted to find photographers that would be able to have a specific point of view and tell a story through photo. We knew that the pictures would last much longer than the day would and wanted to make sure they were able to re-create that special feeling for years and years to come!

 Advice For Other Couples

I am a natural planner. I had binders, excel spreadsheets and lots of Pinterest pins. After planning my sister’s wedding I knew there was a ton of options and the biggest piece of advice I could give is to know that you cannot make a wrong decision.

The day is about the words spoken between husband and wife, the rest of it is beautiful icing on the cake. There are lots of flavors to choose from and they are ALL delicious!

Oh how we love mint!

So fresh and pretty and looks fabulous with our favourite accents of blush and gold! I love this look for a fresh and playful wedding – soft and pretty with a fun sprinkling of glamour.

- Mint looks gorgeous in soft floaty fabrics so go for minty chiffons if you fancy mint bridesmaids. 

- White balloons look amazing with this look; larger ones with tassels are great for detail or use lots of small ones grouped to create impact.

- Gold lame is fabulous for creating details from tying your napkins and decorating favours to creating an amazing backdrop for your ceremony space not to mention photos!

There’s this unwritten rule that wedding blogs only feature winter weddings in winter.

But I’m pretty sure there are lots of you reading who are planning your own cosy winter weddings right now – so sod the rules!

Heather and Tom’s romantic winter wedding was chic, unique and a whole lot of fun – it’s one of those weddings where you really, really wish you had been a guest.

Heather looked stunning in her show stopping Ian Stuart wedding dress teamed with a beautifully intricate up’ do while Tom sported a button hole made of steel coloured grass in the shape of a pair of scissors as he’s a hairdresser!

The flowers, a delightful mix of winter berries and pastel blooms, matched the beautiful ballroom at The George in Rye perfectly and Dottie Photography did a wonderful job of capturing all the romance, personal touches and fun of their day.

 From The Bride…

I’d describe our wedding as modern vintage with a Christmas twist. It was chic but not too formal,  perfectly romantic and loaded with fun! We had the best day of our lives. Little details like a wedding quiz, surprise singing waiters, baby photos of all the guests and a bridesmaid v groomsmen dance off all added to a memorable and fabulous day! 

 The Flowers

We went with the local florist called Cafe Des Fleurs in Rye and the created flowers that were more beautiful than I could have imagined. My bouquet was a masterpiece and the candelabras wrapped in foliage and fairy lights looked beautiful. We went for amnesia roses and Steel Berries (perfect as I was a Steeke and married a Berry!)

 The Venue

The George in Rye was the perfect venue – relaxed yet elegant, cute yet grand. And we had the whole place just to ourselves. We fell in love with the high ceilings and the vintage wallpaper panels in the ballroom and the open fires and country pub feeling downstairs. And we love the beautiful town of Rye – all cobbled streets and tea shops.

The Wedding Ceremony

We entered the venue to ‘here, there and everywhere’ by the Beatles. 

We had 2 beautiful readings. One from captain correlli’s mandalin. We also had a good friend sing ‘we’ve only just begun’.

We exited to the Top Gun anthem and all the boys whipped on their aviators to escort the bridesmaids out!

The Bridal Attire

I wore a Ian Stuart gown – I always knew I wanted a statement dress! Tom and the groomsmen wore black tie and Tom wore a neck scarf made from the same material as the bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaids wore black halterneck dresses with vintage pearl hair pins neatly placed into their side chignons. They looked stunning!

 Décor & Details

Candles, fairy lights and sweety jars along with beautiful foliage completed the romantic setting. Not forgetting the ceiling high Christmas tree and our table names were all named after our favourite quotes from friends! 

Favours were Nails inc nail polishes in Porchester Square and Green and Black’s chocolates.

 The Refreshments

Winter pimms for the reception served in mugs. Dinner was roasted root vegetable soup, lamb for main, finished off with a delicious sticky toffee pudding. We also had jars of nostalgic sweets dotted around. Tom’s Mum kindly provided the cake for us – simple and beautiful with handmade iced roses to match the dress.

 The Entertainment

The wonderful Soprano Bella, surprise singing waiters for the reception. Our favourite part of the day! Nobody knew except Tom and I. The reaction was priceless and the atmosphere was electric! Everyone on their feet, tears of joy and lots of dancing.

We met Dottie Photography at a wedding show and fell in love with their bubbly personalities and wacky ways! They were just so perfect for us. Mandy and Zoe took the most incredible photos and were a joy to have around. Our memories have been captured perfectly!
