Citrus-Laced Destination Wedding in Spain

Destination Wedding in Spain by Buenas Photos and Wedding and Events by Natalia Ortiz48

If I were to close my eyes and picture a wedding in Valencia, oranges and lemons would be a significant feature. Which is why I got so excited about sharing Anastasia & Richard’s destination wedding in Spain.

The bride and groom, from Russia and America respectively, chose to say their vows with a sunny Spanish backdrop, in a restaurant by the shores of Lake Albufera. And I just loved that their bright, organic decor took in some of the region’s most iconic produce.

Planned by Wedding and Events by Natalia Ortiz and captured by Alla Yachkulo of Buenas Photos, this wedding has chic style, unique decor (that I know lots of you will want to take inspiration from!), and a fun, colourful vibe.

With paella, flamenco dancers, orange and yellow hues, and a getaway on a boat into the sunset, this sweet wedding is about to brighten up your Monday, big time.

Our Wedding

A destination wedding was the best option for us as we had family and friends travelling from all over the globe.

Why did we pick Spain? Food, wine, history, nature and beautiful culture.

Knowing that planning a wedding from so far away would be a tricky, we enlisted the help of Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz, who helped make our vision of an unforgettable wedding by a reality.

The team at Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz not only helped find and organise all the vendors, but they made the entire process easy, fun and just wonderful!

Our wonderful photographer Alla is Russian, who was living in Valencia with her husband.

We went to Basque Country on honeymoon – it was beautiful!

Favourite Moments

During the dinner, the band was playing live music, while in between, there were some dances and speeches.

But the most touching moment was when my brother played a song that he has dedicated to us!

Our advice for other couples is to do what is right for the two of you, focus on what you both will enjoy the most and everything else.

From the Planner

From the team at Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz: It was small wedding, which took place in a cozy restaurant on the shore of Lake Albufera, Valencia, with the sounds of a saxophone and a nice children’s laughter.

The groom is American and the bride is Russian. They met at the University in America, became friends and lately fell out into something more. They decided to celebrate their wedding in Spain, since both fell in love with this country, and the bride’s mother had moved to Valencia couple of years ago.

The wedding venue was found in a wink. The Park of Albufera in Valencia attracts many couples, so the restaurant in the park has become an excellent option.

For showing local specialties, a chef was invited to make a paella for guests. All of them were able to watch the food preparation and ask the chef questions. The wedding dinner was accompanied by a group of flamenco dancers. Guests were so impressed by performance that they joined in.

The newlyweds said goodbye to the guests in the end, and floated away on a boat.
