We’re taking a trip to Portugal with a destination wedding that brought its guests to a very special place.

Eimear & Marc said their vows (on Marc’s birthday!) just a mile away from where they first met, 12 years before.

Describing their day as rustic, elegant, and relaxed, the couple with the help of Algarve Wedding Planners, planned their day from their home in Dubai, fusing local food and indigenous decor, with classic styling and luxe florals.

We love a wedding that offers up new and unusual ideas, so all the pretty details and striking citrus decor from Marc & Eimear’s reception is right up our street.

Our Love Story

12 years ago Eimear and her sister went on holidays with their best friend’s family in Portugal – Santa Barbara de Nexe.

Unknown to Eimear, her friend’s cousins were staying in the same villa… this is when Eimear and Marc first clapped eyes on each other. It was a few years later when Marc and Eimear finally got together (much to everyone’s delight!).

Once they got engaged they knew they wanted to bring it back to where it all began and literally got married one mile away from the villa they first met!

Eimear and Marc got engaged in an amazing desert resort close to where they live in Dubai.

Our Wedding

As mentioned earlier we knew we wanted to get married in Portugal as soon as we got engaged.

We spotted the Church of Estoi and it was love at first sight (also it was one mile from where we first met). We loved how Portuguese and understated it was.

Now it was just finding a venue to match, so we couldn’t believe it when Marc’s Mum stumbled across Os Agostos Estate. Marc and I flew from Dubai to see it and thought it was a perfect fit – it was rustic, relaxed but elegant and most important very Portuguese.

Marc and I wanted our guests to feel relaxed and welcome and we felt this venue allowed for that.

To keep in line with the rustic theme we decided to have lots of greenery including lemons and oranges.

Good food and wine were important to us so we were delighted what Os Agostos had to offer and the local wine estate we sourced our wine from we couldn’t recommend enough.
