Paris to Normandy; Glamorous & Intimate Wedding in France

One of my favourite things about my job is that as well as showing you guys all sorts of styles of weddings, I get to share different ways to get married too.

To show you that it’s possible to shake off the idea of a guest list and a table plan and a wedding band, and go for something that, while entirely pared back, still feels glamorous, luxurious and romantic. And that’s exactly what today’s real wedding is all about.

Dennis & Meegan got married in France, with an intimate wedding with just a few family members around them. Before their Normandy vows, they had a stunning photo session in Paris with their photographer, Alisabeth Von Presley.

And while this couple may not have had the 100+ guestlist, their big day, planned with Fête in France still had all the attention to detail and sense of occasion, with a show-stopping gown, fabulous food and wine, a butterfly release, a string quartet and a fireworks display.

I just love the idea of going so big, while at the same time keeping it so small.

We had the pleasure of putting together Meegan and Dennis’ intimate wedding at the charming and bucolic Château de Bouelles in Normandy.

After enjoying a few days in Paris – including a private guided tour, some delicious dinners and a photoshoot around the city – the couple celebrated their union in the quiet and peaceful countryside surrounded by the rolling hills of Normandy.

The intimate group spent the first part of the wedding day exploring the coastal town of Dieppe, returning mid-afternoon to get freshened up for the festivities.

Things began on an emotional note when the groom surprised his bride with a recording he had found of the bride’s dearly departed father, to conclude the ceremony a butterfly release in his memory.

The group then toasted to love and family with a glass of Champagne in the château’s garden. A delicious French dinner followed in the dining room under a massive chandelier and the evening was capped off with a surprise fireworks display.
