Gorgeous San Francisco Cafe Wedding with Romantic Styling

Gorgeous Restaurant Wedding by ComePlum Photography 52

Okay, so I’m a little bit obsessed with this real wedding! It’s just got so many gorgeous details, and even the whole flow of the day is cool – I know you guys are going to love it too!

Corry & Charles are the sweetest couple (make sure you read their ‘how we met’ story!), who tied the knot with an intimate wedding at a cafe in San Francisco.

Kicking off their day with a smile-inducing first look, the couple walked together to their ceremony in the Stable Cafe garden before an evening of food, fun, cocktails, and delicious sweet treats under a canopy of string lights, blossom trees and hanging plants with their friends and family – some of whom had flown in from overseas for the celebration.

Beautifully captured by ComePlum Photography, with gorgeous style (Corry’s Javanese gown is unreal!), and romantic decor, there is a whole lot of prettiness to swoon over with this fun San Francisco wedding.

Our Love Story

Like any good romance, our boy meets girl love story started in a coffee shop. At that time, I was working as a barista and there was Charles, my husband, in need of baristas’ services.

One morning while exploring his work neighborhood and looking for a coffee place to be his go-to-spot, he wandered into my coffee shop. Though he originally came there for coffee, he said that I was the real reason for him to stop by all the time.

Funny story, he never showed any signs that he was attracted to me. I found out about a year later, he called my coffee shop and asked me out for dinner.

Seven months later he officially became my boyfriend, my first boyfriend, and seven years later he became my husband.

Favourite Moments

For my husband, our first look was his favorite moment. He said our first look was nothing short of magical. I agree!

It’s funny how when you’re with a person, you become accustomed to seeing them everyday – but the first look is really something special that any modern day bride and groom should be sure to schedule into their big day.

Our first look was memorable because we did at SFMOMA which allowed us to have a private, intimate moment together. It’s just the two of us. My husband told me how beautiful I look, hugged me, whispered in my ear, and told me how much he loves me.

For me, every single moment that day was memorable. From putting my dress on to the first look, from holding my bouquet for the first time to see the venue beautifully decorated, from greeting my guests to say goodbye to them. It was a dream came true!

As for special details, I made the escort cards myself because I wanted for everyone to know how special they were to us.

Our Wedding

Our search for the perfect San Francisco wedding reception venue ended when we found Stable Cafe.

We wanted a modern urban venue that was intimate for our family and friends to be part of on our big day. This San Francisco gem has an amazing outdoor courtyard, back room fireplace and beautiful plum tress throughout. Blossomed plum trees!

We really wanted to complement the already beautiful landscape of our venue so we picked the colors gold (classic and elegant), purple (February color), white (purity and magical), and grey (a little manly touch) to enhance the decor of Stable’s existing flowers and tress.

The Style

I wanted to show my heritage through my wedding dress. Not just as an Indonesian woman but also as a Javanese woman.

I asked one of my school friends in Indonesia to make me a custom Indonesian wedding dress. She said yes and I told her the designs, then she picked a couple of fabrics for me to choose.

The dress was created with lace and had beautiful hand stitched Javanese patterns. It was everything I had dreamt of in a wedding dress and I was so proud wearing it.

My husband got his three-piece tuxedo custom made at Indochino and it turned out absolutely beautifully.

The quality of the fabric and of the construction is spot on and it fit him like a glove. His ”grey sharkskin suit” really complemented my wedding dress.

The Ceremony

Our ceremony couldn’t of turned out more perfect.

Our guests walking into our ceremony and walking over to our welcome portraits and custom scrabble board guest book, walking under the blooming plum tress and flower arrangements, and anticipating the sound of our musician’s acoustic song, signalling the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.

Advice for Other Couples

Planning a wedding is fun yet stressful. It doesn’t matter if you are planning for 300 people or 30 people. If you have a little extra budget, hire a wedding planner (helped me a lot).

Give yourself enough time to find inspiration. If you want/can, DIY some of your details such as escort cards, cards box or favors. It will make your guests feel special.

You’ll create many beautiful moments on your wedding day, and many of them will be caught on camera. If there are a few mistakes or embarrassing photos along the way, embrace them!

You’ll smile when you remember what went wrong just as much as you’ll love reminiscing about everything that went right.

As hard as you try, not every detail will be perfect. There’s no such thing as perfect wedding.

The Decor & Details

Christina, our wedding designer from LRE catering, and Mary, our florist, did a wonderful job in creating an elegant, contemporary aesthetic with the dining table arrangements.

The food was delicious! Our friends and families said the food was outstanding. LRE catering even surprised us with a special flavor dessert – Eclair with coffee filling.

In the end, my wedding reception turned out beautifully. The space looked great, the food was outstanding, and everyone there had a great time and we had a lot of fun. It was magical.

The Photography

I had my heart set when I saw ComePlum photos for the first time. The pictures were vibrant, flowed like a story. It’s simple and elegant.

She told a story of love through her photographs. She captured personalities, not poses.

After the first meeting with Praise, the photographer, it was clear that ComePlum was the one who would capture our day. And I was right, Praise and Faith, the second shooter, played a big role in my wedding.

They were more than photographers; our guests, our friends, our squad and our storyteller.
