Why hello, fancy seeing you here.
I presume you're back to see more of Tim and Emily's sweet and stylish wedding? If you missed Part 1 I suggest you check out their lovely nuptials and, quite possibly, the best getaway car EVER!
Now it's time for Part 2, with postcards a plenty, charming group shots of the stylish bridal party with the bride, groom and bridesmaids all rocking J. Crew to perfection, a unique cinema sign, and a whole lot of love and fun! I'll hand you over to Emily, the beautiful bride, to tell you little more about how they went about planning and styling their wedding:
Photography: Having a great photographer was really important to us and as soon as we saw Luke Eshleman’s work we knew we wanted to work with him. We appreciated that his photos looked natural and we didn’t have to worry about him putting us in any silly poses. His aesthetic really seemed to mesh with ours and we couldn’t have been happier that we found him. We highly recommend Luke!
Decor and Details: My mom and I spent a few months collecting vintage glassware for the centerpieces. We bought old vases and bottles and grouped them into clusters for most of the tables (several of the tables just had one large centerpiece). I collect vintage glassware so it was a natural choice for the wedding. Unfortunately, we don’t have any photos of the centerpieces that used the vintage pieces!
In lieu of a guestbook, we had guests sign the backs of vintage postcards. We knew we would probably never look at a guestbook after the wedding, but we’ve had so much fun reading through the messages on the postcards.
I loved our cake topper from Lil Cake Toppers. The topper was customized for us and since Tim had no idea what my dress looked like, he wasn’t allowed to see the topper until we got to the reception.
We also had a photo booth from Wink Photo Booths. It was such a hit and we look at the strips that the guests left for us almost as much as our actual wedding photos.
The Refreshments: We chose our venue in part because of the food (having a great dinner was a must) and for dinner, we served beef short ribs and lobster macaroni and cheese. Our cake had two flavors – one layer was mocha chocolate chip and the second layer was chocolate. In addition to cake, we had a dessert table with some of our favorite treats – mini whoopie pies and chocolate chip cookies from a local bakery and sea salt caramels from Avenue Sweets.
The sea salt caramels are sold at one of my favorite lunch spots in New York and I really wanted them at the wedding so Tim tracked down the company that makes them and they were a hit! The whoopie pies were a nod to Lancaster County where the wedding took place and where I grew up.
The Music: Our first dance was to “Take Care” by Beach House, a song Tim & I both love. Our DJ was Michael Hirsch, a friend of ours from Brooklyn, who we chose because he’s a great DJ and our tastes are very similar. He didn’t play the traditional wedding music and we really appreciated that.

I can't stop admiring Emily's dress and necklace combo and I love the thought of postcards instead of a guestbook ~ I'm sure it will be wonderful to sift through them in years to come.
Advice For Brides To Be:
My advice for other brides and grooms is to make sure you take a moment on your wedding day to step back and take everything in. Look around at everyone that is there to celebrate with you (how often are your grandparents, coworkers, and college friends all in the same room?) and also look at how all your hard work came together.
I found that on the day of the wedding, I was so caught up in the moment and everything was moving so quickly that I never really noticed some of the projects that we had spent months working on. My mom and I spent so much time collecting the vases and bottles for the centerpieces but I never actually looked at them at the reception! I'm glad my focus was on my husband, friends, and family and not the décor but I do wish I would have taken a moment to step back and look at how everything came together.
