This colorful Hawaiian inspiration will make you rethink a neutral wedding

If you don’t shy away from color in your wedding design, then this Hawaiian wedding inspiration is for you.

Set on the rugged shores of Oahu, wedding planner AnnaB Events and florist Ocean Dreamer have craft a vibrant and colorful display of wedding decor. Celebrating the islands’ tropical nature, the talented team of wedding vendors choose popping shades of coral and dragonfruit pink, wooing any bride or groom who seeks splashes and splashes of juicy color.

But the scene still feels wild and natural. This isn’t the bold monstera leaf inspiration we’re used to from tropical weddings. Layered textures of bougainvillea, ferns and roses help the floral wedding altar, aisle and tablescapes to feel more ‘garden’ than ‘graphic’.

And of course, it’s the Hawaiian sunset that compliments the scene the most, with the fading ocean sun casting a stunning peachy glow over this coral-colored spectacle.

Haku Lei means “weaver of Lei” in Hawaiian. The Lei is made up of a series of items strung together with the intent to be worn. It is usually created with flowers and leaves and is a common symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honor or greeting.

My goal is to create the right mix of traditions, Hawaiian and European, and be able to create a harmonious whole.

This styled shoot is set at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort O’ahu at Ko Olina, the wild and rugged west coast of the island of Oahu.

The ceremony features a tropical and exotic setup with vibrant colors. The flowers used are mostly native such as hibiscus, plumeria varieties, orchids and heliconia. It is a typical Hawaiian ceremony, in which both the bride and groom wear traditional elements such as the crown of flowers for her and the garland of leaves for him.

The lounge area with typical Rattan furniture is a real explosion of colors, characterized by a cascade of flowers gently descending from the palm tree.

The prevailing colors at the receiving table are gray, peach and shades of pink and coral. The imperial table consists of small crystal urns with brightly colored floral decorations arranged along the length of the table and dotted with tropical fruits such as dragon fruit and papaya.

The mise-en-place consists of elegant elements such as the line of porcelain plates with scalloped edges that recall the shape of a flower and the smooth and linear crystal charger. The element that stands out the most and that certainly gives the exclusive touch to the whole, is the linen napkin finely embroidered with the wonderful logo also present in the invitations, designed to create a unique whole.

The guests’ chairs are enriched by refined coral-colored silk fabric, skillfully woven which makes them even more personalized.

Above the table, a structure from which tulips and delphinium fall lightly, mixed with floating glass globes with candles that warm the air and make it even more impressive at sunset.

During the dinner, the couple is delighted by a typical Hawaiian dance, pleasant and refined, called Hula Dance.

Finally, the bride and groom toasted with fine champagne and cut the cake. The corner dedicated to this moment has columns of different heights on which are positioned the tower of glasses and three beautiful cakes, one of which is finely decorated with ruffles made with the dominant colors of the palette.
