Good morning,

This is my first Danish wedding feature and I'm rather excited to share it with you!

It's a charming backyard wedding that's chic and stylish with a homespun, laid back vibe.

The bride and groom, Sophie and Caspar, are uber stylish in classic black and white. Sophie wears a gorgeous, ruffly dress (and you know how much I love ruffles right?) with black accents such as a ribbon around her waist and jet black earrings. While Caspar wears the winning combination of a sharp black suit and skinny black tie.

There are DIY bouquets, eclectic bridesmaids dresses and the most heavenly braided boho chic hairstyle. The beautiful photography is all thanks to the talented Amanda Thomsen.

The (Reluctant) Princess Bride

I had actually imagined something much more untraditional than a white wedding dress, but my little princess dream was woken up when I tried my dress from Rikke Gudnitz Couture. It just felt completely perfect and I fell in love with it immediately!! I added a black ribbon and black earrings to give it a bit of an edge.  I did the invitations, the menu cards, and the table cards all with a black and white theme.

DIY Florals

I spend a lot of time on the net to find the right “look” for the perfect bouquet, but in the end I decided to do one myself. So the day before the wedding I went to a big flower shop and bought what there was that day – I ended up with a bouquet of white Hortensias and white/green/pink Lisianthus. I quite enjoyed making my own bridal bouquet. However, it took a bit longer than expected, as I have no experience in such. But in the end, I loved my bouquet, and the feeling of having it made on my own was great!

We also decorated the church with Lisianthus and for the dinner table in the evening.  I also made my bridesmaids bouquet’s, a bit darker Hortensia and a few Lisianthus in each.

The Photography

I found our wonderful photographer by surfing surfing surfing on the internet . I looked at many wedding photographer's websites, and my decision fell on Amanda Thomsen, after seeing her wedding pictures on her website.

Sophie's Advice for Other Brides/Couples

The wedding day passes so quickly, so make sure to relax and enjoy it. It's a good idea to have plenty of time with the photographer, this is a nice way of getting time on your own to relax  – without any guests.

Congratulations Sophie and Caspar! Thank you for sharing your lovely wedding with us ~ wishing you a lifetime full of happiness.

Many thanks to Amanda Thomsen, it's been such a pleasure featuring your photography. Check out Amanda's blog to see more of her gorgeous photography.
