Hello and happy Monday to you all!

I love awards shows for the gorgeous dresses {more of that in a moment} but also for the heart-felt acceptance speeches thanking partners, colleagues, friends and children to recognise their help and include them in their success…

I must admit Natalie Portman's speech following her well deserved Best Actress award for Black Swan, in which she thanks her husband for giving her her most important role {referring to her baby bump and her role as a mother}, got me rather teary!

Before we take a look at last night's Oscars inspiration just have a look at these beautiful actresses who graced the red carpet in bridal esque gowns many moons ago…what style and grace.

Mary Pickford-1930                                                                        Audrey Hepburn 1954-Givency gown

If you'd like to see Vogue's run down of Iconic Oscars Fashion throughout the years, including the gorgeous vintage beauties above, click here it's fascinating as well as pretty.

Here's a quick round up of some of the beautiful gowns on the red carpet this year…that could, quite possibly, be wedding dress worthy?

{Any excuse to swoon over pretty dresses!}

Oh Florence Welch how I love your vintage style and your vibrant red hair! {Her dress is by Valentino} Halle Berry is looking gorgeous as always in a nude dress by Marchesa complete with fluffy tulle cloud at the hem.

Mandy Moore  in Monique Luihiller and Mila Kunis in Ellie Saab looking like true screen goddesses {although Mia needs to cheer up!}

Yes I realise Mila's dress is blue BUT it's 2011 people, there's nothing stopping you wearing colour on your wedding day! Check out my post on David Fielden‘s pastel hued dresses if you're still not convinced.

On that note, a special mention has to go to Emma Roberts in this beautiful silver, slinky gown by bridal favourite, Jenny Packham when she attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation viewing party. Just stunning.

And finally, my favourite! Hailee Steinfeld's vintage 50s style Marchesa dress is so fabulous it gets two photos dedicated to capturing it from every angle! {She may only be 14 but this girl has great taste!}
