Yesterday I had the honour of sharing Andrea Ellison's beautiful photos and the story of Donna and Colin's intimate elopement with you. In case you missed it, here's Part 1 The Getting Ready Shots. The final photo depicted Donna, dressed in her long black gown, her make up and hair perfect, ready to marry Colin and spend the rest of her life with him:

But, Andrea told me that moments before, there was a bit of a panic:

Donna was just about to step into her dress so we could take a few shots just before it was time to leave…when we realised that her gorgeous new underwear…bought especially to fit perfectly under her dress…still in its bag…had been accidentally cleared away by the housekeeper of the hotel…with minutes to spare…the receptionist…housekeeper and I went on a mad hunt diving in and out of all the hotel bins to track them down! And we did…just…with seconds to spare!

This made me gasp and laugh at the same time. Can you imagine going commando on your wedding day?! The amazing thing is Donna looks so serene, you'd never have guessed what a panic there had been before this photo was taken!

Over to Andrea, to set the scene and tell the tale of Donna and Colin's wonderful wedding:

They wanted to walk down the aisle …together. I turned his back. She walked towards us…unseen…and then he turned…

{This image makes me well up…such tenderness.}

and they walked…hand in hand…into the tiny Chapel…together.

I wept…they wept…and at that moment…it was so special…so very intimate…and it felt…so very very right.

{This is my favourite photo…it's a shared look full of joy that says: ‘We did it!'}

{The messages of love and best wishes start pouring in from their families…}

Congratulations to you both. What a beautiful wedding day you had!

Colin and Donna left a lovely comment on yesterday's post, sharing their love story from the very beginning. I was so thrilled to hear from them!

Here's their love story in their own words:

The way we met is a love story within it's self: 15 months of Colin drivng past my salon waving in with me myself wanting to know more about this guy. He finally walked through my door, and got me at hello!!!
We have spent the last 2 1/2 years making sure my son was happy with us being together, constantly having three in our relationship.

When Colin got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife (how many times have I dreamt of this moment), I quickly said yes! When we decided to set a date, we wanted it just about the people that matter….US!! The lead up to the day without anyone knowing, just made it so much more perfect…

The day was about us, two people COMPLETELY in love. Having our day and not having to make sure our guests were happy just made it so much more intimate…We loved our day and if we had to change anything? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! xx

Thanks again to Colin and Donna for sharing their story and their day with us. And of course many thanks must go to Andrea, who captured their day so perfectly!

Andrea and I have shared many emails since she first got in touch and her passion for her job and love for her clients is evident in every word. Brides and Grooms who choose Andrea as their photographer will be very lucky indeed!
