Today’s wedding is as eclectic as it is beautiful. Just the way I like them!
The bride is the image of vintage/boho perfection with her thick red hair, flower crown and lace dress with delicate angel sleeves. While the groom and groomsmen are dressed up to the nines in top hats, tails and gloves looking very dapper indeed!
Sarah of Sarah Janes Photography captured their day perfectly with her vintage photography style. Here she is with the details:
Mark is the G2B that proposed with an elastic band…some 3 months after asking Nicolas father for his permission.
Nicola is the Bride that made her own bridesmaids dresses..arranged all the wedding flowers, and was making her own wedding bouquet on the morning of the big day..
This is a bridal couple who had a beautiful summer’s day wedding in April.
I must admit on the big day Mark’s top hat and tails threw me. After our pre-wedding photo shoot, I went into Nicola & Mark’s big day with the understanding that this was a couple who just wanted a special day with their friends and family, nothing formal, nothing stuffy. It is fair to say that the old Double Decker bus and VW campervan blew anything stuffy or formal right out of the window!
Check out the DIY boutonnieres ~ I’m loving the addition of thistle!
I then “got” the contrast between the traditional church affair, complete with top hats and gloves, and that quirky, homemade, relaxed modern take on how a wedding day should be. Which is not about the bride and groom having their big day but about friends and family celebrating the love Nicola and Mark have for each other, and so beginning the next chapter of their lives together.
The letters L O were on Nicolas shoes. No they didn’t know. All the ushers were sniggering like school boys!
Nicola makes the most beautiful bride. She makes me want to dye my hair red and get a fringe so badly!
Stay tuned for Part 2 coming up this afternoon featuring some truly stunning couple’s shots in the early evening light, the reception details and Nicola and Mark’s energetic first dance!
It’s such a pleasure to feature Sarah and her wonderful photography. Take a peek at her website and blog to see more of her photos.
Can you believe Nicola made those amazing, wild looking bouquets and that flower crown herself?!!
