Good morning,

I hope this post finds you happy, healthy and ready for some wedding eye candy!

Carolyn and John's wedding was set in the historic, ivy covered buildings of the University of Toronto, Canada. Their wedding day was classically beautiful from the purple touches to Carolyn's elegant dress and delicate jewelry to John's striped tie. {You must know by now that I'm a big fan of stripes!}

Here's what Corina of Corina V. Photography had to say about the day:

Carolyn & John have a young daughter named Sam and it was so special when the newlyweds kissed and turned to walk back down the aisle and Sam (who was in Grandma's arms) reached out to them and wanted to join their celebratory walk – such a sweet moment!

Carolyn kindly shared all the lovely details:

The Proposal: How did John pop the question?  On a cold winter night were walking our puppy in a nearby park.  As John passed the leash for my turn walking I noticed a bag hanging from it.  When I opened the box there was a beautiful engagement ring inside.  John then got down on one knee and proposed.

The Dress: My dress was from Jealous Bridesmaids and the designer was Blue by Enzoani.  I knew it was the dress as the moment I put it on it made me want to dance:.

The Shoes & Accessories: I wore kitten heels (the groom is not too much taller than I am).  I did wear a veil although I didn’t put it over my face.

Hair & Make Up: I’m a natural kind of girl but I do like to play up my eyes a bit so I went very simple makeup with a bit of extra attention on the eyes.  As for my hair, I always wear it down and I have natural curls so wanted a romantic curly half up look; also very natural.

The Grooms Attire:  The groom wore a brand new black suit from a company called Gotstyle.

Bridesmaids/Groomsmens Attire: The bridesmaids and groomsmen were in black with a touch of purple.  The bridesmaids in Bill Levkoff with purple pashmina’s and the groomsmen in their own black suits with Hugo Boss purple ties

Theme/Colour Scheme: The wedding was romantic but modern with simple colours and simple lines but soft.  The colours were purple, white, and black.

The Flowers: We went primarily with Tulips, the Groom is dutch and the flowers were in season so it was the perfect match!

The Cake: The cake was home made by the groom’s cousin.  She did a beautiful job!

The Décor & Details: Not much by way of décor as the venue is quite elaborate and doesn’t need much dressing up.  We decided to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation in memory of the grooms father in lieu of favours.

The Entertainment:  We had a string trio for the ceremony and a DJ kept the guests dancing the night away right until the end!

The Wedding Music: Jesu Joy of Man’s desiring and recessional was Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.  The first dance song was In my Life by the Beatles.

The Photographer/Videographer: We loved our photographer Corina.  She was realy personable and put everyone at ease while capturing some beautiful intimate moments between all at the wedding.

Favourite Moment: I loved walking back down the aisle with my husband and our daughter for the first time.

Advice For Brides:  The most important thing is ensuring you and your guests have fun.  Good food, good drink, and keeping things moving throughout the day helps to ensure the day doesn’t drag out and everyone enjoys their time.

Wishing Carolyn and John a lifetime of happiness, thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us.
