As always with my bridal beauty posts, I like to share gorgeous model/bridal inspiration AND images of real brides on their wedding day.
Often the images we see in magazines and fashion/bridal inspiration shoots are of insanely beautiful women {what I wouldn't give for Scarlett's pout!}, taken by super talented photographers with more than a little photoshopping involved. Evidence above.

When I was searching for red lipstick wearing brides to share with you, the majority had a distinctively vintage/retro vibe {birdcage veils and red lips were a very popular combo!} But red lips have stood the test of time ~ they are a classic look that will never go out of fashion.
Red lips look just as good with a vintage, lace dress and pearls as a modern dress and statement headpiece.
There's a shade of red to suit every skin tone from burnt orangey reds to pinky hued reds and rich, dark reds. And, as the images above of real brides show, you don't have to have big lips to pull off red lipstick!
Red Lipstick Rules:
~ Preparation is key. Make sure you moisturize your lips well and then let your balm/Vaseline sink in before applying your lipstick to avoid unsightly dryness or the lipstick sliding off.
~ Play down eye make up with neutral colours and let your lips do the talking!
~ If you have a pale complexion, like me, there's no need for fake tan as red lips look gorgeous next to porcelain skin ~ hurrah!

~ Ask your bridesmaids to be on hand to check for red lipstick on your teeth…not a good look!
