I have good news, your Thursday is about to get a whole lot lovelier…
Jennifer and Dave's elegant yet laid back wedding is filled with delightful DIY details including a gorgeous MW motif that Jennifer designed and incorporated into all the pretty paper goods. The flowers were arranged with help from friends and family and they're a veritable festival of rustic, multi-coloured blooms!
Dave's father made the shepherd's hooks that lined the aisle and all the mason jars came from Jennifer's Grandma's canning room! It's clear that this wedding was a team effort, handmade with love.
Jennifer is such a graceful, elegant bride and her La Sposa wedding gown is simply incredible ~ Dave's first look reaction is priceless!
Ok enough chatter, it's time for chic navy style, lawn games, a festival of flowers, kisses, smiles, s'mores and that dress all captured beautifully by Simply Jessie Photography.
Jennifer shares a few of her favourite moments from the day throughout the post:
The first look. I felt immediately calm and so so happy when we saw each other for the first time. And I think it really came through in the photos! I'm so glad we did this before the ceremony, not just for logisitics, but because it was a quiet, peaceful moment to bring us into the day. It was really romantic, I just love the picture of Dave when he is reacting to seeing me for the first time, it's so charming! I felt so in love with him in those moments, it was so necessary for me to have that time with him BEFORE the ceremony.
Walking down the aisle with both of my parents. Walking down the aisle to In my Life on acoustic guitar, outside, with the gorgeous flowers that our family helped make so perfect, I couldn't even have imagined a more beautiful moment.
I loved my Maid of Honor's speech, and I loved Dave's best man speech. We love those guys, they nailed it, what a gift.
Yard games (Dave loves yard games, especially Cornhole, the sets shown are made to the national cornhole standards!), drinking (Dave handpicked some fall seasonal beers) and our indoor/outdoor fireplace!
Reading out our vows. We wrote our own, it was intensely emotional, but so true to who we are and our relationship. A lot of people have told me they felt so much a part of our ceremony, that was really special to me.
