What happens when two creative designers get engaged?
Invitation awesomeness, that's what.
After Russ proposed to Jess, their friends and family waited in gleeful anticipation for the inevitable awesome invitations, putting the couple under what Jess refers to as ‘enormous pressure to make something crazy'.
They rose to the challenge and decided that designing their wedding invitations would the perfect opportunity to work with all the talented illustrators and designers they'd met and be-friended along the way. Many of whom had ‘played integral roles in the story of how Jess and Russ came to be'.*
And so they embarked on an incredible collaboration featuring a variety of different artforms including typography, graphic design, illustrations, paintings, mixed media pieces and even comic strip art.

The result?
A romantic, quirky mix between a Facebook timeline and a fairytale.
Their website, Jess and Russ, consists of a scrollable, online wedding invitation filled with illustrations that dance across the page, links to the special/funny/sentimental moments captured on film (and even on a napkin) during their lives together and tells Jess and Russ' love story in a creative, innovative and truly beautiful way.
