Let's kick the week off with a modern wedding in Palm Springs that's so awesome it hurts. (Almost.)

With a bright colour palette of grey, black and sunshine yellow, fresh floral pomanders, zesty lemon centerpieces, sophisticated chandeliers and chevron details running throughout,  Artisan Events worked with Melaina and Tim to create a gorgeously modern wedding with a hint of old Hollywood charm.

Melaina looked absolutely stunning in a fitted lace gown and sheer, chapel length veil with lace floral trim (which was lovingly hand sewn by her mum). While Tim was effortlessly dapper in a grey suit, yellow bow tie and thick rimmed glasses.

Heather Kincaid Photography captured their fun loving personalities and the sweet moments between them so beautifully.

Artisan Events share more about the details and design of the day:

The entire event took place in the Presidio area of the Viceroy; seeing that Melaina and Tim had a small guest list we could make this happen.

We set up the Presidio lawn for the ceremony, large abstract vases with giant yellow rose pomanders framed the steps, rose pomanders in colors of yellow and white in varied sizes rained down from the arbor at the top of the steps, creating a magical backdrop for the ceremony. The San Jacinto Mountains in the background might have added a little to the beauty of the ceremony, just maybe.  Stylized rose petals of white with splashes of yellow finished the look.

After the ceremony, everyone moved across to the Presidio pool for cocktails.  Set with tall and short cocktail tables, classic Viceroy yellow chairs and centerpieces of yellow ranunculus springing from a bed of succulents and nestled in a black ceramic cube completed the table.

Melaina did some great graphics to complement all the décor, place cards, a “Just Married” sign, accent signs at the bar, and of course yellow and white strip straws. All the elements started with an amazing invitation that sported the grey and white chevron pattern, no detail was missed.

After cocktails we drew the yellow organza drapes back and invited guests to come back across to dinner ~ the entire area had been transformed. The lawn centered with a black and white dance floor and white crystal chandeliers floating above.

Tables were adorned with grey and white chevron and topped with five staggered candle stands with floating white candles. All surrounded by a landscape of black and white finials filled with yellow tea roses, a glass vase with sliced lemons topped with succulents, white garden roses, yellow tea roses and Billy balls.

Melaina also created white framed black and white vintage photo’s of Old Hollywood movie stars, Palm Springs relevant, to complete the look of the table.

Yes that is the bride, on the decks. See? I told you it was awesome!

Congratulations Melaina and Tim! I hope you're enjoying newly married life.
