Eunice and Cory had an intimate destination wedding at Hotel Jashita in exotic Tulum, Mexico.

Their nuptials were awash with pure white sand, clear, turquoise sea, palm trees galore and wind whipped cabanas. The details of their day complimented all the natural elements of the surroundings perfectly – lots of wood, twine and hurricane lamps, as well as a delicate colour palette of creams and soft pinks.

All captured to perfection by Closer To Love Photography.

Enuice and her bridesmaids looked beautiful (and comfortable) in light and floaty dresses by Saja. Plus I have to say a big thanks to Eunice for introducing me to Tkees flip flops – the closest thing to going barefoot!

Oh and one more thing, there was a churro truck involved! Mmmmmmm.

From The Couple…

We knew we wanted to get married on the beach, and Mexico holds a special place for both of us.  We found the perfect venue for our wedding with Hotel Jashita.  It's an intimate, beautiful hotel with a zen vibe and a maximum capacity of 50.  It's the only hotel on Soliman Bay, and we rented the entire place for a 3-day weekend.  We kept wedding events to a minimum, so that everyone (including ourselves) could relax and feel like they were on vacation.

The weekend went perfectly.  We never felt rushed, and we were able to spend quality time with all our guests.  This was the first time our families ever met, and our respective sides – central Texans and northeast Asians – had plenty of time to interact and get to know one another.  Our wedding planner, Gwen, did an amazing job keeping the decor in line with the overall ambience of the place…elegant yet laid back.

There are pros and cons to having a destination wedding. In the end, it was the best decision we made. It allowed us to keep the wedding small; every guest was someone very important to us. You must relinquish control over many of the wedding details, which in turn allows you to just be in the moment and to truly enjoy your time with the guests. When you’re in such a gorgeous setting, you don’t need much more than good cocktails and yummy Mexican food.

If we had to give one piece of advice, it would be to find a small venue that you can have all to yourselves; the weekend will be so much more intimate and cohesive.

Congratulations Eunice and Cory!

Hands up who wants to jump on a plane bound for Tulum right now?!
