I've been so looking forward to sharing Kimberlee and Chris' romantic destination wedding in Malaysia with you all because:

a) It's full of roses, tealights and a dreamy nude and blush pink colour palette.

b) Who can resist an effortlessly glam bride in a ruffled Vera Wang mermaid wedding dress? How about a groom in a powder blue suit?

c)  The photographer was the awesome Ruby Yeo.

And don't get me started on the lego cake toppers, his n' hers parasols and cute key and padlock escort cards/favours – such a sweet idea!

 From The Bride…

We always knew we wanted a destination wedding. I am from Australia and Chris is from the UK so it made sense to have our wedding at a half-way point for both families. My two sisters were my bridesmaids. They wore nude strapless maxi dresses and had their hair in messy buns.

 The Ceremony

I chose Yiruma, A River Flows In You as the music I wanted to walk down the aisle to. It’s a really beautiful instrumental and it fit perfectly with our day.

 Ruby Yeo Photography

We had seen Ruby’s work online and on other wedding blogs and it really captured our hearts. Chris also owns his own wedding photography business and so it was a very important decision for him.

 Décor & Details

The venue was beautiful in itself, but we also had bunches of dusty pink roses on each table, and lots of candles and tea lights and lanterns spread everywhere to create a dusky glow.

Bit by bit we bought small boxes, ribbon, some wedding themed boiled sweets (so they didn’t melt in the heat!) and some personalised Love Heart sweets all from small vendors on Amazon.

We also gave each guest a luggage tag and key at the entrance to the restaurant and they had to find their seat and unlock their padlock attached to the ribbon tied round their box.

 The Flowers

I had my heart set on a very particular ivory shade of rose, which in the end had to be shipped over from the mainland. Langkawi is such a small island they couldn’t get the right ones. All the flowers on the day were variations of blush, pink and ivory roses. I really like the simplicity of the colour palette and it set a relaxing and romantic tone to the day.

 The Refreshments

We had an open bar and chose to have a buffet BBQ of steaks, seafood and chicken that guests could have freshly prepared throughout the evening.

 The First Dance

Chris chose Somewhere Over The Rainbow, by Israel Kamakawiwo’ol as the first dance song as it means a lot to us as a couple and to Kimberlee’s family. We chose this version in particular as it suited the beach theme perfectly.

 Favourite Moments

Chris: Seeing Kimberlee for the first time, walking down the aisle.

Kimberlee: For me it was having everyone we loved there to support us and them to see how important Chris is to me and the commitment we’d made together.

 Advice for other Couples

Kimberlee: Once Wed  and Weddzilla were the sites I visited regularly for inspiration, I recommend them to everyone.

Chris: I found I am staggered I Am Staggered a really helpful site from a blokes point of view.

And of course we would recommend Chillisauce.co.uk  for hen party advice and ideas they helped us plan two hen and stag parties each!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us, Kimberlee and Chris. Wishing you all the best for married life!
