British elegance meets rustic American charm in this gorgeous wedding at The Lace Factory, Connecticut.

The bride wore a simple, buttery silk wedding dress teamed with tousled locks and nude, peep toe, Badgley Mischka heels with just the right amount of sparkle. While the groom was the epitome of style and sophistication in a classic black tux, his suit jacket thrown nonchalantly over one shoulder.

The bridesmaids were just as chic in expertly mismatched, black, chiffon dresses and the flower girls looked adorable in their textured, rosette gowns as they carried beribboned baskets of pretty pastel blooms.

These exquisite photographs by Brigham & Co Photography are like something out of a classic film.

Each frame more beautiful than the last. A perfect fit for Amber and Avi's timeless wedding.

From The Couple

We are both still surprised (but delighted) that everything was perfect. We only got engaged on November 27th 2012 and married August 2nd 2013 so the turnaround time was short. We didn’t rush any decisions (on vendors) and found the right ones for our special day, with so many people attending from London, England we wanted the perfect venue and we found that with the Lace Factory. We wanted the theme to be very classical and simplistic and were able to create that atmosphere with only a hint of extra décor.

The Inspiration & Colour Palette

Black and white with hints of subtle colors. The facility was rustic/wooden, with pops of color inspired by the bride’s bouquet.

The Ceremony

I carry your Heart by E.E Cummings – read by the Brides brother, Steve Sanelli and Groom's Sister, Tamar Priestland

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

– E.E. Cummings

Favourite Moments

The acoustic guitar player. The steam train passed by right before we got married (like we timed it!!). Best Man speech was amazing as they used video footage and pictures of the Groom. Beautiful weather and the union of a British and American Family.

The Photography

Our photographer Jessica of Brigham & Co arranged to meet us at The Study (New Haven CT) and set the tone from there with great food, charming personality, personalized gifts, and a stunning portfolio. Her pictures captured wonderful ‘in the moment' shots which complimented our style. We agreed early on that our photographer and videographers were one of our most important decisions – we met with a lot of photographers! Luckily we had an instant connection with Jessica and could not be more grateful that she was a part of our big day.

Décor & Details

On the tables (long tables – 32 per table) we had a long row of flowers in mason jars accompanied by white candles in mason jars and we used wine bottles for table numbers. The venue had simple white lights everywhere.

The Refreshments

We had a formal sit down meal and Wedding cake prepared and served by Cloud Nine. During cocktail hour we had passed hors d’oeuvre and a stationary table for cocktail hour. The food was fantastic. Accompanying the cake were mini-cupcakes for the guests.

The Music

At the Ceremony the Bride walked out to an Acoustic Guitarists playing ‘Here comes the Sun’ by the Beatles. The first dance was ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow. Mother and Groom danced to ‘Days Like This’ by Van Morrison and Bride and Father danced to ‘Isn’t She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder. Our wedding party entered the venue to ‘Starlight’ by Muse.

The Videography

We found our videographers online (they are based in NYC) and knew right away they were perfect for us. They created an amazing trailer and recently we received our extended video of the full day and love it. Again we don’t know how it all came together so perfectly and love getting to see ourselves on the best day of our lives. Because of Jessica and NST Pictures we get to live in those moments forever!

Tips & Advice For Other Couples

A great way to find inspiration is on blogs, one of our favorites was Green Wedding Shoes – its how we found our photographer Jessica! Write your own vows and enjoy every moment.

Picture perfect in every way. Sigh.

Congratulations Amber and Avi, wishing you every happiness for the future!
