Let's celebrate the beginning of the weekend with a sweet, stylish Utah wedding and a generous helping of Kristina Curtis‘ gorgeous photography, shall we?

Ever since Darienne was a little girl she's been besotted with the colour purple. Luckily her fiancé Devin embraced her love of all things purple and their beautiful nuptials were filled with sumptuous, Cadbury's esque shades. Pure, white lace, light grey and purple make such a rich, elegant combination, don't you think?

A true family affair, Darienne's mum, sisters and the couple's friends and family all pitched in. We're particularly obsessed with the wooden centrepieces etched with the couple's names and wedding date on them. Plus there's a s'mores bar, tasty bite sized treats, dreamy florals and heavenly heels for the bride. In purple, of course.

The Inspiration & Colour Palette

The colors for our wedding were purple and grey. Ever since I was little my favorite color has been purple so there was no doubt that I chose purple as one of my colors. I didn't hire anyone to plan my wedding, my mom and sisters helped me plan everything. We looked at a lot of things on Pinterest and brought all of our ideas together. My mom designed the center pieces and made the box for my s’mores bar. My sisters collaborated in finding me and my bridesmaids perfect matching shoes, mine in purple and theirs in grey. And my good friend Danyelle Plowman did my make-up.

The Flowers

In my bouquet we used purple stock, purple lizianthus, lavender stock, lavender tulips, and lavender roses. My bridesmaids had while stock and white roses. My husbands boutonniere was a purple Lizianthus, and the groomsmen including our dads and grandpas had lavender roses. Our mom’s wristlets had lavender roses, purple stock and baby’s breath. Our grandmas  corsages had lavender roses and baby breath.

The Attire

My wedding dress was by Allure Bridals and the veil was the same veil my mom wore when she got married, which made it so special!

I had my bridal party were purple and grey. All my bridesmaids found their own dresses, which made it easier on me. I wasn't too picky on what color of purple, but it turned out that they all matched well and looked great together!

My bridesmaids and both my mom and my mother-in-law wore purple and grey shoes. While all the groomsmen wore grey pants and our fathers wore grey tux’s with purple ties.

The Ceremony

We had a temple sealing in Salt Lake City Temple.

The Photography & Videography

I chose Kristina Curitis to do my photography because she is an amazing photographer. She does all my familys photography from our Senior pictures when graduating High School to our family pictures. Our videographer we picked because we had many friends suggest him and after we looked up his work online we saw how great he was. We love our videography it is such a special way to capture moments from our wedding.

Décor & Details

Mostly everything was DIY projects from the s’mores bar to the calligraphy chalk boards, centrepieces, party favors, and the mantle decorations.

Personal Touches

Our wedding was made so ‘us' by having everything purple and how relaxed it all felt. We felt so calm through it all because we had our reception and wedding on two different days. I am also big on family and to have my sisters so involved helping me find everything and help me get the things I was looking for made planning our wedding less stressful for me. I’m lucky to have the best family around and to have married into such an amazing family also.

The Refreshments

We served s’mores, hot chocolate, Russian creme, chocolate mousse cups, fruit tartlets, lemon chiffon, Italian sodas, tomato basil, bisque shooters, and mini grill cheese sandwiches. I wanted a variety of things and Art City Trolley Restaurant definitely helped me out with that.

The Music

The reception music was a playlist that my friends helped put together and songs that my mom loved. Our first dance song was a mixture of two songs and two dances. My fiance, at the time, mixed together two songs where I first danced with my dad and then he handed me off to Devin when the song merged into our first dance. I danced with my dad to “I Loved Her First by Heartland and then my dad handed me off to my husband and we danced to “This Kind of Love” by Sister Hazel

Advice For Other Couples

My advice for couples getting married is to have their reception and wedding on different days. It makes it easy and relaxing. We had our reception the night before we got married and then got married the next morning. It was so nice to have the whole day to set up the recption and make sure everything was perfect. Then the next morning we got married and got to leave that afternoon to our honeymoon and not worry about the reception that night. It was great to get married and be able leave afterwards to be together just Devin and I!

Utterly gorgeous!
