Everyone thinks that long hair means endless possibilities for your wedding day style – and we guess it sort of does!

But as two long-haired ladies, Elizabeth and I can empathise with brides who are looking for something different to do with their wedding day hair, that will hold in their super long tresses, and still reflect their every day style.

Enter the awesome beauty team at Martha Stewart Weddings, who this month, treated their readers to a variety of styles for every kind of hair type.

And they’ve been kind enough to share some of them with us (they’re nice like that!).

As the team at Martha Stewart say, “Finding your wedding hairstyle doesn’t require multiple fittings, and it hasn’t spawned a TV show – yet. But it’s just as integral to your ensemble as that gorgeous gown.”

True that!

So to help you on your way to finding your dream ‘do, here’s three ways to style a bride with long hair…

Polished Glamour

What bride doesn’t look show-stopping with soft, sexy, bombshell waves?

This style is so versatile, it can be paired with a flower crown, a veil, or a hair slide, or it can look just divine on its own. Equally it works amazingly with a rich rouge lipstick for a vintage style, or is just perfect with nude peach or pink toned make-up.

Check out our tutorial for DIY soft wavy hair, or speak to your stylist about brushing out some classic waves, for a glamorous and polished Hollywood look for your wedding day.

Adorned in Accessories

Hair accessories can take a simple bridal hair style to the next level. From jewel encrusted slides to pill box hats, a carefully chosen accessory can be the cherry on top (literally) of your unique wedding day style.

The team at Martha Stewart created this look by placing a Scünci No-Slip Grip Elastic Headband just above the hairline, then rolling the hair up and tucking it into the elastic. The chic headband to polish the look is by Jennifer Behr.

Look to accessory designers like Twigs and Honey, Enchanted Atelier, and Fabiola Capo for inspiration and check out our easy-peasy boho upstyle tutorial for steps to creating a similar look.

Rapunzel Braids

Having long hair is the perfect excuse to opt for a a really ornate or unusual updo. Let your hairstylist flex some creative muscle and try out a few different ideas with a hair trial.

We love the soft rustic feel of this multi-braid chignon, this is a great way to keep your hair off your face, and create a classic silhouette, while still achieving an unfussy, natural look.

Find a step by step guide to creating this look, and other beautiful styles over on the Martha Stewart website.
