We asked Verbina Ksenia to share a little more about the fascinating concept behind the shoot…
This photoshoot is about two human truths. The perfect combination: the crystal-clear embodiment of angel and demonic power.
The inspiration was the enveloping sweet and tart of the Givenchy fragrance Ange Ou Demon, which the creators call ‘the secret elixir of life'.
For a long time, we floated the idea for a project, which would not be similar to conventional love story or styled shoot. We want to show philosophy of good and evil, light and dark forces. And it became even more obvious when we found the location – the real greater white mountains!
Such deserted, lifeless, along with the entire themed shooting refer us to the eternal continuity of light and dark.
We have tried as much as possible to reflect this in the way our couple – an ascetic young man dressed all in black, the girl, beautiful, blonde, angelic, but with a very fiery eyes – between them was a fire…
And this theme of fire was reflected throughout. We chose fiery shades in floristry, and complemented them with ribbons and stationery. The final touch was a make-up look in unusually bright scarlet and terracotta tones – which further emphasized the whiteness of her skin and hair.
We thought it unnecessary to add any more colorful accents, because the natual surroundings did that for us.
