2015 was a big year in our love affair with wedding dresses.

Not only were we treated to some really breathtaking collections, but we were lucky enough to attend bridal fashion shows in London, at Barcelona Bridal Week, and New York Bridal Fashion Week. We also brought you guys one of our most epic series' of posts ever, on How Much a Wedding Dress Really Costs.

So, as we continue our look back at our favourite posts from 2015, it was only fair to take a look at the collections that truly took our breath away too.

This one was the most difficult of our end of year round-ups to put together, so far. Because well, we've rarely met a wedding dress collection we weren't a little bit in love with.

Whether a collection is bold and sexy, sweet and vintage, chic and classic, or cool and modern, each one has something special about it, and the potential to be ‘the one' you choose for your big day.

So, while we adored every single one of the collections we shared on Bridal Musings this year, these are the gowns that got the most repins on Pinterest, likes on Instagram, and show a scope of what's on offer for 2016 brides, whatever their style.

You're in for a treat!

1. Berta

We've been lucky enough to share world exclusives on both of Berta's collections from this year, (and see them on the runway, twice!) And as you'd expect, there's a reason this Israeli designer has garnered something of a cult following from brides around the world.

Incredible silhouettes, glistening detailing, and bold design, these gowns are not for the faint of heart.

2. Laure De Sagazan

We discovered Laure De Sagazan on Pinterest this year and instantly fell in love. Both of this French designer's collections this year were divine, and she's become massively popular with European brides looking for something a little bit different.

Think breezy bridal separates, loose silhouettes, the prettiest of detailing, and cool, effortless, easy-to-wear designs.

3. Milamira

Dress by Milamira via Bridal Musings

Milamira is a Russian wedding designer duo we came across on Etsy, and whose dresses are not only beautiful, but incredibly affordable too, with most costing under £500 ($800).

With a real fine art feel to them, the collection includes gowns in the softest chiffon textures, with delicate hues of pinks, mints, blues and off-whites giving a modern feel to the more classic designs.

4. Alon Livné

We got to see the debut bridal collection from Israeli designer, Alon Livné, in New York and it was one of the stand out collections of Bridal Fashion Week.

A bold collection with a fashion-forward feel and glamorous embellishments, think glistening beading, fabulous ostrich feathers and ornate lacework.

5. Rue De Seine

Rue De Seine is a New Zealand-based bridal collection who reached new heights in 2015, and has become a real go-to for cool, boho brides.

We saw the Nomadic Love collection (and met the awesome lady behind them) at New York Bridal Fashion week, and from the bronze beading to the white fringing, they're every bit as gorgeous in the flesh.

6. Celia Grace

If there's one trend that's set to grow in 2016 and beyond, it's not a style of skirt, a type of neckline, or a kind of fabric. It's ethical, socially-conscious wedding dresses. And Celia Grace is a bridal fashion house that's leading the way.

Not only are their gowns gorgeous, and made with beautiful silks and natural fibres, they're also sewn by seamstresses in Cambodia, who are paid a fair wage and taught new skills. If you want a wedding dress with real heart, this is a collection to check out.

7. Lihi Hod

We shared not one, but two Lihi Hod collections on the blog this year, and this Tel Aviv-based designer, never disappoints.

With silhouettes that vary from the insanely sexy to the incredibly pretty, and details that range from the boldly modern to sweetly retro, her collections have something every bride will fall hard for.

8. Sophie Sarfati

This wedding dress collection, and the shoot that accompanied it, wooed us from the very first glance. Sophie Sarfati is part of a wave of talented new French wedding dress designers, that we're pretty excited to see more from.

With that cool, Parisian aesthetic down perfectly, look out for floaty shapes, teasing lace touches and effortlessly chic silk textures.

9. Pronovias

Dress by Pronovias via Bridal Musings

Pronovias is perhaps one of the biggest names on the planet for wedding dresses, and having seen their shows in both Barcelona and New York this year, we can firmly say, it's with good reason.

Not only do they do that classic, princess-style wedding dress to perfection, but they've also got a show-stopping array of bold designs, fashion-forward details, and modern shapes. It would be tough not to find a dress you love, in such a mammoth collection.

10. Inbal Dror

Inbal Dror is one of those designers whose collections we always cannot wait to see, not just because of the glorious gowns, but the captivating lookbook destinations, too. And this year's collection delivered, and then some, with the iconic backdrop of Venice.

With serious levels of glamour and drama, these gowns met the romance of the setting beautifully, with blush hues, feminine designs and exquisite detailing.
