So this morning I shared the full blog post on mine and Marko’s wedding day (a surreal one to hit ‘publish’ on) and now I want to share our gorgeous wedding film, by our friend (and super talented filmmaker) John McKeown.
Wedding films always make me smile. But I wasn’t quite prepared for our own to make me smile so much.
I thought this one would either having me wincing from behind a cushion at the sight of myself on video or in floods of tears. But it actually made me feel all glowing, and loved, and happy.
I must admit, I welled up when I first hit play and saw all our friends and family hugging, but after that, Marko and I, who watched it together the moment John sent it to us, were just grinning from ear to ear.
He got all the bits we missed, like our pal Quigs doing magic tricks, our college mates crushing it at limbo and the gorgeous words from our families during the speeches, that we hadn’t fully taken in on the day.
There’s a few retro snaps from our travels in there too! Oh and I’m just in love with his music choices too.
John (and his gang of helpers) truly captured what our wedding felt like. He nailed the intimate feel of the ceremony, the collective hug of our reception, the more emotional moments of the speeches, and then the transition into all the fun of the night too.
Our day was just a big, marvellous, loved-up celebration. And I think that comes across…
