5 Unique Ideas for a Disney Honeymoon

Disney Honeymoon 5

So, I’ll be honest. Until I started working on this post with Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, I honestly thought that a Disney Honeymoon meant a trip to one of their world famous theme parks, with maybe some fine dining, a spa day, or a few surprise treats among all the fun.

I’d no idea it could be so much more varied than that.

Disney Honeymoons quite literally offer trips all over the world.

From Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to Disneyland Resort Paris for some far flung Disney magic, a beach honeymoon in Hawaii, a river cruise in Germany, or hitting the high seas for a once in a lifetime Caribbean adventure; I really was blown away by the variety of destinations and experiences – and that’s before we even get to the food, the service, or the entertainment.

While it’s a lot to whittle down into one blog post (check out Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons site for more inspiration and details), I figured I’d give it my best shot!

So, check out my edit of five awesome ideas for a Disney Honeymoon.

1. Take A Cruise

Disney Cruise Line offers couples the chance to experience all the romance and glamour of a cruise for their honeymoon (with all the fun and magic you’d expect from a Disney-style getaway!).

With voyages for four and seven night Caribbean cruises, couples can set sail from Port Canaveral, just an hour away from Walt Disney World Resort.

Visit Castaway Cay, Disney’s very own private island paradise (how cool is that!) along with stops at some of the beautiful ports in the region.

Aboard the ship, indulge in world class entertainment, incredible cuisine, and lots of fun, from water slides, to snorkelling, to spa and salon therapies. Oh, and some pretty spectacular sunsets.

For something further afield, experience Disney Cruise Line European and Speciality Cruises, with adventures that set sail from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean. Definitely a unique kind of honeymoon.

2. A Dream Come True

Your honeymoon is the perfect opportunity to do the kind of trip you’ve had sitting on your bucketlist forever. And a trip to Disneyland or Disney World is pretty much up there with trips of a lifetime, don’t you think?

Whether you go to California or Florida, honeymooners will have the chance to experience all the magic a Disney honeymoon has to offer, from luxurious resorts, spectacular entertainment, incredible theme parks, and of course, fireworks.

The options truly are endless, you can spend your day on rollercoasters, hit the spa, take a carriage ride, go on safari, indulge in all-kinds of evening festivities, and try a new restaurant every night of your trip.

3. An Asia-Bound Adventure

I just love the idea of visiting Tokyo Disney Resort or Hong Kong Disneyland Resort for a honeymoon.

Think all the magic of a Disney honeymoon, with the excitement and adventure of visiting somewhere new and unique.

Set among beautiful mountains, and the calm waters of the South China Sea, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort offers honeymooners a different kind of trip, with award-winning dining, lush garden backdrops, and impeccable service, along with lots of one-of-a-kind Disney experiences.

Tokyo Disney Resort will give you a unique Disney experience, with your choice of three hotels and two theme parks. Tokyo DisneySea Park is perfect for honeymooners, with seven ports to explore in Disney’s first park themed to the myths and legends of the sea.

If you’ve never been to Asia, this is the perfect way to dip your toes in a truly special part of the world.

4. Hit The Beach

When most of us think of our dream honeymoon, flaking out on the beach is high on our list of priorities.

Disney Honeymoons have a selection of beautiful beach resorts that provide complete relaxation, and lots of fun and adventure (for when you’ve recovered from your post-wedding exhaustion!).

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is a relaxed resort in South Carolina, fashioned on a 1940s hunting and fishing lodge. Entirely laid back, couples can ride bikes, take hikes, go fishing or kayak on the waterways. Or of course, they can do nothing at all!

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is an idyllic backdrop for a relaxing honeymoon by the ocean. With lots of choices for dining and activities, this resort lets couples enjoy a little old world Southern romance.

And the one I’m adding to my must-visit list, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, is not just a stunning place to honeymoon, but it offers traditional Hawaiian food and entertainment in beautiful surroundings – for an authentic experience with that touch of Disney magic.

5. Be Adventurous

This was the one aspect of Disney Honeymoons I had no idea about – and it’s so cool!

Adventures by Disney offer unique getaways to the four corners of the world.

Think snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef or snapping a selfie for two on the Great Wall of China, staying in a Fairy Tale Castle in Europe or taking an early morning trek through the Amazon rainforest. The sky really is the limit.

It’s so hard to hone in on any one adventure, because there are so many amazing itineraries to choose from, but visit the Disney Honeymoons hub for inspiration, because the options really are so exciting.

Now all you have to do is choose your adventure!
