When people ask me what “the best” wedding is that I’ve ever been to, it’s nearly impossible. Weddings have brought me to many amazing places, people and memories. This week on the blog, we’re rounding-up some of our favorite posts from the last 12 months, and somehow I’ve chosen my top 10 real weddings both as a reader and a writer at Bridal Musings.
This year’s weddings came from all over the world, from so many different cultures and people, which (in my humble opinion) is what makes modern day weddings so very special. And we can’t forget about the amazing photographers, planners, and vendors who continually step up their game year after year with new fabulous trends and unique ideas.
We celebrated big milestones, like Australia passing Marriage Equality (love wins!) And we indulged in some guilty pleasure celebrity weddings (superhero Serena Williams!) and of course Harry & Meghan’s royal engagement.
While any of our weddings on Bridal Musings could be “the best of the best” (we published them after all!) we consider this list a heartfelt collection of favorites, in no particular order.
1. A Pretty Tuscan Wedding
As if a wedding in Tuscany wasn’t dreamy enough, Anna and Emil’s Italian destination wedding was filled with the prettiest details. I, personally, am still to this day lusting over Anna’s boho Rara Avis off-the-shoulder gown.
2. Utterly Romantic Muslim Reception
We love all things romance here at Bridal Musings, and this chic, oh-so-pretty Muslim wedding satisfies all of our romantic wedding dreams. A high-neck lace gown, birdcage veil, gorgeous henna, luscious florals and sweet portraits by Marc Andreo, we can’t stop pinning this beautiful day.
3. Dreamy Beach Wedding in Thailand
Sign me up for any party where I get to keep my toes in the sand, but Thailand?! the most beautiful, Now there’s a destination wedding I’ll hop right to at a moment’s notice. The couple took advantage of all the luxe custom tailoring Bangkok has to offer then jetted to pastle purple and pink sunset wedding we could imagine (with bridesmaids to match!).
4. Persian & French Destination Wedding in Barcelona
Like we said, 2017 provided even more fantastic fusion weddings of couples from all different backgrounds, and this multicultural Persian & French wedding is so luxe, so fabulous, so lust-worthy we’re applauding at every frame.
5. Chateau Wedding in France
Oooh wee! We love when our favorite wedding vendors get married! Liv Hart, the talented accessories designer behind Enchanted Atelier by Liv Hart married her love in the most picturesque, romantic chateau in Northern France, and the bridal expert certainly had the details styled masterfully.
6. Surprise Vow Renewal
Your sweetie books a couple photoshoot for you two and you arrive at a surprise styled vow renewal? Cue the big whopping happy tears. Warning, this surprise wedding vow renewal is a real tear-jerker.
7. Stylish New York City Loft Wedding
Here comes my personal bias, the New Yorker in me was screaming “YASSSSSS” when I saw this hip, stylish, NYC loft wedding hit my Instagram feed. This couple is the epitome of cool, and if they’re reading this right now, can we please be friends?!
8. Epic Fashion-Style Lake Como Wedding
Five stars to the couple that pulled off such a gorgeous Italian wedding that for the longest time I thought it was a fashion shoot. Costume changes, incredible vistas of Lake Como, luxe details, seriously, you have to see this!
9. San Francisco Cafe Wedding
Throwing a party in a small, city space can be tough from a style and staging perspective, but our adorable San Franciscan couple pulled it off with so many romantic details. Set at the Stable Cafe, we love how cozy yet luxurious this cafe wedding feels.
10. Adventurous Moroccan Elopement
Finally, I’m including a favorite wedding of my own on the blog, Anna and Zahlen’s epic and adventurous Moroccan elopement. We stayed in a gorgeous tent camp in the Agafay desert and celebrated with tagine, dancers, and Moroccan drummers into the early hours of the morning.
Stay tuned for more round-ups of our favorite posts from 2017 over the next few days.
