Bucking the trends, the couple began their nuptials the evening before the big party with an intimate ceremony of vows surrounded by immediate family. The couple certainly set the tone fashion wise even at this private event with casual yet totally fab attire – a blue suit with sneakers for Ethan & chic modern white dress with black straps for Ali.

They kicked it up a notch the following day when Ethan was surprised with Ali’s ever-so-cool embellished jumpsuit (that we’re all drooling over) by Lakum Collection. With a white flower in her cool, short haircut & Christian Louboutins, Ali was giving off the ultimate cool bride vibes at their wildly fun reception.

Speaking of which, can I just say right now, we’re totally ready for rainbow sprinkle wedding cakes!

Our Love Story

Ethan and I met 9 years ago, a week after valentines day. My best friend Emeka asked me to come to a party with him in the west village and I was really not interested because I had been out too late the night before. I went to the party sober and ended up meeting Ethan that night. No idea we were going to begin hanging out based on that night – but we did.

The Proposal, His Version:
Our proposal was appropriate for our personalities and involved our pets. Ali is a big dog lover and does not love being the center of attention, so it was a private proposal involving our dogs.

The Proposal, Her Version:
Our proposal was kind of funny in that I had just come home from my parents’ house and Ethan asked me to leave the house and pick him up some ginger ale as a favor. I was annoyed with him for not asking before I got home, so when I arrived back at the house with the ginger ale he “needed” for his upset stomach, the dogs and Ethan were ready to propose; very funny.

The Ceremony

Ali & Ethan enjoyed a rainy, but modern and relaxed wedding weekend celebration down the shore in Asbury NJ. They said their vows the night before the reception at Porta, Asbury Park in a intimate ceremony surrounded by immediate family.

The Venue & Style

The two kicked off their wedding reception at The Asbury Hotel, where they got ready, had their first look, and danced the night away. They began the day getting ready with close friends and family (including their doggies!) and met each other downstairs for their first look. Ali even surprised Ethan with a stunning custom Lakum Collection bridal jumpsuit. He thought she was going to be wearing a dress!

The Reception

The two decided to forgo traditional reception activities and dinner and surprised their guests with rotating stations every hour. The evening ended with a rainbow sprinkle mini cake and dancing into the evening. I think our wedding day was fun, light, and enjoyable. The crowd seemed to have fun and we both had a good time as well.
