Charming New England, there’s so much to love. Historic inns, slate greys and ocean blues, killer seafood and elegant style. We can understand why this Florida couple choose Maine as their destination wedding (and new home!)

Jaime & Tom celebrated their nuptials in an intimate fashion – with twenty of their closest family and friends (who barely escaped the hurricanes in Florida) on the porch of the classy & charming Camden Harbour Inn. Located in Maine, the Inn boasts the classy vibes and covered porch the couple needed for their dreamy, misty wedding day.

We can’t help but gush over Jaime’s elegant wardrobe choices as well, shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue Jaime found a chic, knee-length, off-the-shoulder Misha Collection wedding dress that supplies all the upscale New England party vibes one could hope for.

Throwing an intimate wedding, it’s important the people surrounding you are special to you (I can relate!) and Jaime and Tom were spoiled with a talented photographer as a niece, Juliana Montane, who took these beautiful photos of their wedding day.

Our Love Story

I am a divorce attorney, and Tom hired me as his attorney in 2003. During the process of his divorce proceedings, I was divorced from my husband of 20 years. Tom and I became friends as a result of that professional relationship and sometimes accompanied one another to social events as friends. I had a few other relationships after my divorce, and Tom did as well.

One day he suggested that we have a real “date” and if either of us felt after the date that it had been a mistake, we could claim amnesia. That date was in 2006, We have been in a relationship solely with each other since that date.

The Dress

I wanted everything to be very elegant, simple and modern which is what I wanted for my dress as well. I went with a simple, short, off the shoulder style that I found at Saks.

The Destination & Venue

Being a destination wedding, the location was very important. Camden is a special place to both of us as we have been visiting there for years. (And we actually just bought a house there!) We chose Camden Harbour Inn because of amazing food & wine and the Inn itself is just beautiful.

The guest list was about 20 of our closest friends and family all from Florida, and everyone left just in time to miss Hurricane Irma! My husband’s kids were part of the wedding party, as well as our 2 best friends. And my niece was our photographer. We just wanted it to be intimate, relaxed and in a location that we felt was special – and we achieved all that.

Favorite Moments

I loved the ceremony itself. A former local boat captain performed our ceremony. We met with him at his home a couple hours a few days before the wedding, and he really got to know us. He made it very personal, poignant and touching. Our vows were very personal to both of us. It was a beautiful setting on the veranda of Camden Harbour Inn, and the perfect temperature. It did start to rain (although we were under cover) about 20 minutes after the ceremony ended, but everyone says that’s good luck.

The reception & dinner inside the Inn could not have been better. The food was wonderful, the selection of wines was perfect and we had some wonderful tributes and comments made by family and friends.

The Flowers

The flowers were elegant with mostly white & nude colors with greenery. With mostly roses, our florist also added in some calla lilies, silver brunia and lisianthus.

The Splurges

We splurge on the choice of the setting using the renowned Camden Harbour Inn which has Relais and Chateaux status. We splurged on the food, and also the open bar and selection on wines. We did not spend much on our attire, frankly, but were happy with our choices.
