Dramatic Floating Wedding Centerpieces For The Blush Bride

Le Jardin Villa – Cape Town Editorial

From floral chandeliers, wild floral altars and cascading bouquets, we’re drawn to the dramatics when it comes to florals. Featured in this blush & plum South African wedding inspiration, we find our favorite new floating centerpiece.

Sitting atop lucite cylinders (another reason to love this trendy decor!) are Okasie‘s floral masterpieces. In pretty combinations of white, blush, peach and plum, the centerpieces absolutely wow, as they seem to float like pink puffy clouds above the wedding table. A tall hydrangea floral installation stuns as well, as if this floral scene could get any prettier.

But the intrigue of this blush wedding inspiration doesn’t end with the florals! Wearing two different wedding dresses, our bride evokes playful romance. With a dapper groom in black-tie attire and a stunning colonial venue, this South African scene photographed by Amy Caroline is an absolute delight.

From Amy Caroline

My Grandmother was born in Cape Town. So when the inspiration hit for this editorial shoot, it was highly important that we paid homage to a true South African wedding, with its charm, architecture and culture included! We wanted to create a stunning grand wedding making sure it stayed true to African charm, but also allowing for grandeur and elegance!

Our color palette was lush peaches, pinks, and grey. Featuring the grassland colors of South Africa, and allowing for an elegant setup.  African patterns were subtle included with the design of the invitations and paper products, showcases that sublet African charm without being too over the top.

Overall we aimed to create inspiration that showed a Cape Town Vineyard Cape Dutch intimate wedding, while being elegant and timeless.

The Flowers

The roses were all locally grown by our floral designer Okasie and picked that morning for the shoot.

The Dress & Attire

Our dress designer is a local South African, as well as our groom’s attire. We wanted to have a more traditional gown for the first part of the wedding day, and then had our couple change into a second outfit for the reception.

The first half of the shoot was a little more traditional in it’s feel, and the second feeling more relaxed and laid back for their reception. Our groom had a classic black tux to start, and then donned a navy blue jacket for the second half of the day. Our bride wore long lace sleeves for the first half, and changed into a more relaxed sleeveless gown for the second half of the day.
