City brides, with your fashion-forward & sophisticated ways – you won’t want to miss this urban, avant-garde bridal inspiration from the Romanian capital photographed by Wedding Stories.

So fun is it for us to put Bucharest on the Bridal Musings wedding map. With its ornate architecture & grand boulevards, we could see how this Eastern European city could prove the perfect backdrop for a bride searching for an urban destination a bit outside the box.

The editorial also features a jumpsuit so fabulous, so eye-catching that they even created a cake that mimicked its architectural waves (we can’t quite decide which piece is cooler). We’ve been elated in recent years witnessing our brides stride down the aisle (and runway) in bridal jumpsuits and even more wonderful is the fashion-forward & creative styles that have emerged in that time, including this Cristina Savulescu piece.

From Moon Events

This is the story of a bold, daring bride wandering the streets of the city towards meeting her beau. Each step she takes radiates self-confidence. She is the modern bride, the emancipated woman who is not afraid of her choices and of her decisions.

Her look is constructed using urban elements such as textures, shapes and colours, from the wavy jumpsuit to the metal jewellery and wet hair. She wears the vibe of the city and her energy matches the urban tumult.

She is walking confidently on Calea Victoriei (Victory Lane) towards a beautiful rooftop restaurant called Linea – Closer to the Moon – where she is supposed to meet her better half. He is melting after her beauty, her confidence, her attitude. He loves her so much, he would do anything to have her forever by his side. Two restless souls becoming one.

They are really simply something else.

I chose a jumpsuit instead of a bridal dress, completed by a wet hair and bold makeup, with metal accessories to match her personality. The Avenue and the rooftop where we shot were just perfect, getting us from beautiful symbolic buildings in Bucharest to a perfect place for admiring the sunset in the city. The venue itself is a match of wood and metal, very urban, very industrial. From the rooftop you can admire the entire Bucharest with all its mix of old & new, while the sunset fondles this out-of-the-box love story.

The table setup has a modern, slightly minimalist vibe, with combos of various patterns and materials, from wood and rock to metal and ceramics. It is edgy, perfect for the couple’s personality. All the decor items are designer products in order to emphasise the uniqueness of the concept.

Raluca & Alex are two artists – she is a professional dancer, a wild spirit that is tamed by him, who is a photographer and a videographer. This couple inspired the entire shoot with their interaction and their uncommonness. After I first met them I instantly knew this project will be different.
